Buddy Venne was the Sudbury Bomber--did he go to that HS or perhaps a Catholic one--Xaverian?

Close, EFG, but no cigar. The Jesuits built a brand new high school in Concord, called Xavier. It only existed for perhaps 10 years. Right off of Route 2 across from Emerson Hospital. xavier66.com/documents/Xavier_Closure_Discussion.pdfIn addition to Buddy, HC guys that I remember from there were Richard Leon (now a federal judge), Dennis Crowley, Mike Lavigne and his twin brother, Jay McGovern (https://magazine.holycross.edu/issue_46_1/46_1_yourturn), John McMahon and Paul Galvani (transferred to Framingham South after a year or two) . Xaverian, in Westwood, opened the same year, or very close to it. As you probably know, it's alive and well; although like most private schools, a bit worried about its future; especially if it has to go online in the fall. Xaverian, Malden Catholic and both Massachusetts St. Johns are all run by the Xaverian Brothers.

Linda Martindale article:
"On Thursday, Linda Martindale was hired as the next head coach of the boys basketball team at Lincoln-Sudbury.
Lincoln-Sudbury has found the right person for the job.
On Thursday, Linda Martindale was hired as the next head coach of the boys basketball team at Lincoln-Sudbury.
“She has a proven track record and has done a great job,” L-S athletic director Art Reilly said. “She’s got everything that we are looking for.
“She’s played at a high level, coached at the varsity level and is embedded into the community, which will help out a great deal.”
Martindale’s résumé includes stints as the girls varsity coach at Weston High School from 2008-11, where she was named the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association’s Division 3 North Coach of the Year in 2010. Following her time with the Wildcats, Martindale was Newton North’s head coach from 2011-16. Prior to rejoining the high school ranks, Martindale was an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team at Curry College from 2006-08, and prior to that she was an assistant coach for the L-S girls basketball team from 2003 through 2006.
A standout player before her coaching days, Martindale took the court at Division 2 University of Alaska-Anchorage and at Division 1 University of Arizona.
“Playing at the next level is a goal for some players and not for others, but for me it was a huge opportunity,” Martindale said. “Playing in the Pac-10 (now Pac-12) was just so fun and a great opportunity for me at that age. Really learning to play at that level required so much commitment and time and hard work and is now one of the proudest things that I’ve done as an athlete.”
While this may be her first boys varsity coaching job, she is no stranger to coaching boys basketball.
“I’ve been coaching middle school boys in the travel program – 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys basketball in Sudbury for about 10 years,” she said.
She has also coached her son, Judson – who will be playing basketball at the College of the Holy Cross next year – for a number of years.
“Coaching him at his level has really prepared me for what it takes,” she said. “The number one thing for me is to never be out-worked. So the plan is to make sure that philosophy goes across our whole program.”
Martindale has two other sons – Calvin, who plays at Lawrence Academy, and Nolan, who is in middle school. She also has a daughter, Brianna, who is a standout volleyball player at L-S.
There is a slight difference between girls and boys basketball.
“The biggest difference is the speed of the game and I think boys can play above the rim (more), which makes differing abilities to set up plays,” she said. “But the big issue is making sure that you are making changes throughout games. Making adjustments, offensive adjustments, defensive adjustments, so in that respect, there is no difference.
“When you face a full-court press, you need to break it the same way as you do with boys or girls.”
Martindale won’t be alone in the sense of her being a female coaching a boys basketball team in Massachusetts.
Last year, former Braintree girls basketball coach Kristen McDonnell was hired to be the Norwood boys basketball coach.
“I reached out to her (Thursday) night,” Martindale said. “She was one of the first people I reached out to.”
The two coaches go way back to their Bay State Conference days, when Martindale was leading the Newton North girls team and McDonnell was leading her powerhouse Wamps squad.
“We used to be big rivals back when I was coaching the Newton North girls,” Martindale said. “Newton North and Braintree were actually co-league champs one year. The only game I lost that year – we were 19-1, she was 19-1 – we both lost one game to each other, so I really respect her and admire her.
“I will definitely reach out to her to see what she has to say and any words of wisdom that she might have, but she seems to have made the transition (to coaching boys) seamlessly.”
Martindale even hinted at scheduling a preseason scrimmage or a non-league game with McDonnell and Norwood in the future.
According to Reilly, any hesitation of having Martindale coach boys didn’t enter the equation.
“That was a non-factor for me,” he said. “We have females that coach boys sports at L-S that are very successful and males that coach female sports. We just try to put the best person that we can find in that role and she was perfect for it.
“She has the best résumé, I’m not concerned at all about that. She can do the job.”"

WA soph gunner Desonte Bowen was just ranked #113 in the class of ‘22 by Rivals Also ranked #1 in New England class of 2022, by NERR. Crazy athletic, but often out of control and often made poor decisions with the ball. Part of being young, I guess.
6-10 Kyle Filipowski - currently ranked 5th by NERR among 2022s - had a terrific post-season, leading Wilbraham-Monson to the Class NEPSAC AA championship (beating WA in the final). Wouldn't be surprised is he becomes #1 in short order - he's gotten a dozen high-major offers in the last couple months.
Holy Cross has reached out to - but not yet offered - his twin brother, Matt.
