51-24 final. Rough start and helped by so many penalties but still a good win and the team made the big plays when they needed to. Safe travels back, Crusaders!

Yeah, lack of streaming on MSU but this was a good game if you believe that the most improvement for a team is between the first and second game. We will need to be greatly improved to play UNH well. They will have home field advantage but believe it is their first game. We sure can't count on Wildcats having the penalties the Bears have had today. Bell in at QB. Good move, TG. UNH plays at San Diego state tonight.

With no video,it gave me the opportunity to give Dick Lutsk a serious listen.
Very professional job.
Need I say what a major step up he is from our previous play by play person?

I keep coming back to games at this level are won and lost by the following:
-experience and especially senior leadership -quality depth .. . -a few special playmakers . . . with overall talent levels very close at this level, the team with those few special players have a real advantage -turnovers -penalties (impacted by discipline and conditioning and also largely a function of depth)
A few years back I looked at a composite of Patriot League results over a protracted period and the differential between Ws and Ls was 3.5 points.
Hopefully Brendan Flaherty has nothing seriously wrong. The defense seems to have made some adjustments at halftime and held MS to about 140 yards in 2nd half. The kicking game looks very solid with Zane Wasp and AJ Wells. The O appears to have plenty of depth with a number of playmakers.
Plenty of reason for optimism. Games like next weekend are the ones where you want to see the senior leadership on display.
Let's Win!!

Nice win today that has me feeling good!
I might have been interacting with some Crusader fans in the flesh when whatever happened to Flaherty happened to him, but I honestly didn't see anything. And I didn't hear anyone talking about it. One mans perspective - potentially lack thereof! - from the game. There were a number of Morgan players who went down and required attention, but don't recall anything like that for an HC player.

Any feedback on freshman RB Miles Alexander? I see he had 5 carries for 18 yards--would love to hear any reports on how he looked. I think he's going to be a very good one

Congrats to TG, the staff and the team on a nice opening win. Like to see the run/pass ratio at around 50/50. Hope we can keep it going against a tougher opponent next weekend in a hostile environment.

Nothing in the T&g about Flaherty If it is a minor twinge (as was posted earlier), I would not expect to see anything there. IMHO, this was not a game where (after halftime) anyone would have been asked to play hurt.
