Duke gave up 64 points in the paint. And that is with one of the best big men in the country, Vernon Carey jr

150 straight OOC wins at home. What an upset by SF Austin ! As 28 point underdog, the largest upset in 15 years. I didnt see it, but hard to believe the refs did not see a violation on that game winning play! The refs called everything both ways down the stretch. Absolutely SHOCKING.

I wouldn't call that a travel. K seemed to say the right things after the game, most notably "if we had won, we wouldn't have deserved to".
The bottom line is about Duke and Ky: you can bring in the best players in the nation, but that doesn't mean they are going to know how to play college basketball from the get go.

But neither team got many of the best NBA prospects this year No projected HIGH lottery pick for either team (amended) Memphis, two, UNC, one, and Georgia, one , beat them out.

Tyrese Maxey and Matthew Hurt could be lottery picks. CBS' latest mock draft has Maxey going 7th and Hurt 9th. NBC has Maxey going 9th and Hurt 23rd. Some of the more credible mock draft sites also have Kentucky wing Kahlil Whitney as a lottery pick.

Watching Maryland on a neutral site, Harvard beating Texas A&M, and Fairfield’s close games we have had two loses that were bad-UNH and Northeastern
It could be interesting from January-March
Now that I have taken a position, it is off to the Dining Room table for our Feast and Prayers of Thanksgiving
May you and your loved ones be blessed

Maryland pulled it out 80-73 (didn't watch)
PC blew a double-digit lead against Long Beach St yesterday....Cooley looks/sounds very frustrated with his charges. Play College of Charleston at 4:30 on ESPNU today if you're still recovering from Turkey Day yesterday.

#1 Louisville leads #4 Michigan by 10 with 4 minutes to play
Michigan is 13 for 52 from the field--not a typo. Louisville isn't doing much better

Rough night for the Big Ten’s Michigan teams in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Louisville played stifling defense and led virtually from wire to wire at the Yum! Arena. The Cardinals clamped Livers and Simpson. Michigan shot 26% from the floor including 17% from 3. Cardinals have a veteran team and will be tough to beat. If they struggle at times during the season, it may be at the offensive end.
Similarly, Duke led wire to wire in East Lansing. Played excellent MTM defense and had double digit blocks and created many turnovers. Vernon Carey Jr. is a beast. Tall, left-handed and quite possibly better in the low post than Zion. Tre Jones was very impressive. Hard to believe that they lost to SFA at home although they missed 16 FTs. Duke had a 16 pt. halftime lead and State cut it to 8 early in the second half and looked like they might make a move but then Duke regrouped and widened the margin again and it was never fewer than 12 the rest of the game. As you can imagine Izzo was not a happy camper—got a “reverse home job” from the refs (at least 3 horrible calls...acknowledged by Bilas as the color man) and watched Carey (whose final two schools were State and Duke) dominate. Without Langford (quite possibly out for the whole season) and with Winston’s family tragedy, the Spartans have not looked like a pre-season #1 team so far. Will be interesting to see if they can right the ship in Big Ten play.

Good analysis Only quibble is that Carey, though very good, is not equal to Zion on the low post or anywhere else.

Harvard over UMass 89-55, despite Aiken only having four points. Lavietes was full, attendance given as 1634, so Lavietes seating capacity must be around 1700 these days, after the renovation. Several mentions of the HC game, and Harvard's struggle, by the broadcasters.

Saw Stony Brook University thump Brown last night and it looks like EJ Perry is buried on Brown's bench. A Brown v HC hoops matchup this year would've been pretty close (IMHO).
Last year's HC victory over SBU might have been our best game but they seem stronger ( a surprising rebuild for a team that lost its best player) and we are most definitely weaker.

Yale won at Clemson today 54-45 - Clemson will probably fight it out for the cellar in the ACC with BC and Pitt - Yale is very good again this season - Harvard will be their toughest competition in the ivy, IMO. BC beat Cal in SF last night by 4
