That opinion has credibility because you are probably the only poster who followed Chesney closely during his pre-HC days due to your work.

Need a quick, strong line with plenty of talented depth for that style as you move up to Div 1 and likely at 1AA

One thing that gives me hope for Saturday vis a vis the PL title....just realized that this is Colgate's iast game of the year. Hopefully they will leave nothing in the tank etc I hope it's 31-0 at halftime.

Well, it will work for some schools. If HC can win big on Saturday, I would hope we might not be traveling quite so far.

SE Louisiana (7-3) is on a 4 game win streak and plays Nichols St (6-5) on Sat. SEL is an 8 point favorite (35-27).
PS: SEL is ranked #22 by Massey (5 spots better than UNH).

BTW: At this point, if there is a game between us, Massey would make SEL a 12 point favorite (33-21).

If we are headed to Louisiana, let me be the first to shout the battlecry heard in New England in the two weeks before the 1997 Superbowl as the Patriots prepared to face the Packers in New Orleans: "Jambalaya!"

I think there a number of other scenarios to look at for the playoffs if HC was to get in.
It's not inconceivable to think there might be 5 teams from the CAA. JMU, Towson, Albany, Nova and Maine. Very rarely does an 8 win team from the CAA not make the tournament. Towson, Albany, Nova (already have 8 wins) could/do get that amount. Towson plays Elon, Albany plays Stony Brook. Also if Maine beats UNH they would get to 7 wins, with two of their losses to FBS teams which the committee doesn't count.
If that were to happen you would see 7 from the Northeast who are non seeded. Monmouth, CCSU, Nova, Albany, Maine, Towson, HC. You can't play a team that you've already played during regular season in first round. That would leave 1 odd man out team in terms of having to travel. My guess is that would be a CAA team and HC, Monmouth, CCSU would match up against the other 3 CAA teams.
You could see HC/Maine in terms of proximity.
Selection show is 12:30EST on Sunday on ESPNU. Would have to imagine if HC takes care of business there would be a November Madness watch party on campus somewhere.

The CAA is a tad overrated. Last year six CAA teams got in and four of them lost in the first round. From what I recall, James Madison whined about Colgate getting the bye and then lost to them in the second round.

Latest bracket has HC v Villanova Can you post it? Who did they have playing Albany?

Villanova has a (very) slight shot at a first round bye. If that doesn’t happen and we play them round one that’ll be 4 PL teams for them in one year ... and we’ll have to break the PL trend v Nova this year.
At the same time I’m thinking if the committee sees the lowest ranked ‘east’ team as ripe for travel and there are an odd number of first round ‘east’ teams we (HC) could be looking at a long road trip.

If this turns out to be accurate, and HC should beat Villanova, that second round looks almost terrifying. BUT, who knows what might happen. GO CROSS!

I would much rather draw Albany or Central Connecticut than Villanova.

It’s been a while, would Thursday be a “normal” Thursday practice schedule this week? Thanksgiving at Kimball ?

Good chance that, should we win our opening round game, we will get one of these teams.

Great day! This year is gravy. I have to think if on the truth serum Chesney would have thought year 3 or 4 they'd be where they are. Took advantage of some teams with down years and won the games they were supposed to. A great experience for a young team. Go Cross!
