We played a BC which was “up” and we had a new coach and no experience at QB. Other years will be different. Not too long ago when HC was “up” and BC was down we could have won. I believe for a short time we were actually ahead of BC in the combined rankings but I could be wrong. I believe we should play one BCS game per year plus BC every other year. We just have to get better. We’re getting there.

Suggestion: don’t confuse “predictable” and “almost inevitable” with “metaphysically certain”. I appended “almost” in my original post for that reason, thank you for the suggestion. i now feel "epistemically purified".

"My point regarding Citadel vs Georgia Tech is that that's an example of why you play the type of game you reject as "not a game"." i have no familiarity with the citadel's football program nor am i interested. i do have an interest and passing familiarity with holy cross football. the consensus here appears to be that our current game plan v BC, Syracuse is don't get injured, grab the $ and run. that's not a football game. if holy cross commits the money to up the status of the football program then let's have a go at them. BUT,1- that will not happen; 2- imho, it would be a disastrous mistake. Moose 1. Your current use of the function to quote a post and then post a reply in a separate post is very confusing. You've been here long enough now that you should learn to use the quote function. Click the quote button. Scroll to the bottom of the Create Post window that opens. Click you mouse below the box that has the quote in it. Type your comments relevant to the post. 2. Your opinion of the game plan vs. the BCs & Syracuses of the FBS is hardly consensus here. You posited it and thus far I have seen few agree that that is the game plan - either now or in September when we played Syracuse. There are some who certainly don't like the games because of perceived higher risk of injury or limited chance to win but they hardly think the game plan is avoid injury and get out of town with a check. 3. We get it. You don't like the games. You don't have to. But it's an opinion. Others disagree for reasons just as legitimate as yours. Time to move on. We're playing Fordham, not Syracuse this weekend! i usually try to use the quote function but sometimes it does not seem to be available. sorry for the confusion. i'm not trying to win a popularity contest with my posts, neither do i enjoy being the fly in the ointment. like others who post comments i have my concerns about the status and future of the holy cross football program.

Moose, I will try not to confuse you, or other posters, with another quote.
You have a legitimate opinion on the philosophy/strategy of scheduling Holy Cross football games that some agree with, some disagree with and another segment agrees with you in part.
I appreciate your contributions not only here but on our Class Message Board on this subject (so far, just a dialog between you and I).
As you know, at least two of our Classmates who were on the football team with you attended the Syracuse game and 3 of them attended the Navy game. I am not aware of any of them going to any other games either home or away. At least one of them living upstate New York made the trip down to Annapolis, so there is a "drawer" for at least some HC fans that might not otherwise exist.
Again, not trying to convince you, or anyone else, to change his/her position on scheduling but ask you to consider expounding on your thoughts on the CMB in order to generate some discussion/interest among our football Classmates. The guys I referred to do not participate here on Crossports. If and when you do, I will "advertise" it to our Classmates.
Full disclosure: I have an ulterior motive - I would like to generate at least indirectly Class interest so that some might have a greater incentive to re-connect and attend our 50th reunion in June.

50th reunions (if mine was any indication) are GREAT for renewing connections...both to classmates and to the. Cross itself. Heck, our 50th even got my wife to make a gift to HC (in her will).
