Martindale has a complete game, handles, passes, scores from three, inc one from NBA range, also on various finishes after dribble drives, rebounds, defends. South Kent was much shorter but had many shooters, mostly on three pointers. Rabinovich sat early with two fouls. When South Kent tied the game in the second half, it looked as if WA went with a shorter lineup without Mike until they widened the lead. When Mike returned he did not get many offensive chances, but did Rebound well, inc out of his area. Have to see him again when he plays more to get a complete evaluation.

247 Sports list Josh Ogundele at 6-10 and committed to Iowa Josh is bigger than 6’10” Iowa lists him at 6’11” McCAFFERY: We saw him this summer and really liked him. I went out to see him this fall where he is at a really good program. We always make that swing up there in New England where there are a number of really good players at the prep schools are at. Billy Taylor went up there and then I went there and we had him in for a visit. We hooked up a couple of times. I’ve been up there couple of times after that. He just keeps getting better. He has athletic power that you like. He does play below the rim sometimes, but he can go up and dunk it on you and block shots. He runs the floor and can play in transition, which is important for us and he can get rebounds for us. He is being coached at a really high level and will play a bunch of competitive games this year and then we will get our hands on him, which will be great.

He is huge, but based on this tape, he is not in condition to play a lot of Big 10 hoops. He certainly has a lot of potential.

The 3 day national Prep showcase at Albertus Magnus in New Haven has begun. Over 40 college and some pro coaches are already there WA plays Sunday at 4:30 I checked the Worcester Academy schedule and they have home games against two of the very top schools in the AAA division of the New England Prep School Athletic Conference. New Hampton Prep on 1-11 and Brewster Academy on 2-9. They also play Blair Academy in a tourney in Providence on 1-31. Game is at Rhode Island College. As an FYI, WA plays in the AA division of the NEPSAC. Also an FYI, Rabinovich is a very frequent visitor to the Hart Center based on my visits there this fall: open practice, AC exhibition and the 3 home games. Not sure if Martindale has been there or not. It's hard not to notice a 6'9" or 6'10" kid.

They played and lost to a big (6-8, 6-9, 6-11 up front) Massanutten Military Academy team. Rabinovich no slouch with six points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Box score below.

I watched about half of WA’s game vs South Kent and the Hilltopper’s point guard appears to have absolutely no conscious about shooting the basketball. He apparently has never met a shot he doesn’t like.

I realize that this is the commit thread, but I could not find the 2020 recruit thread Bo Montgomery was named player of the game in the Atlanta Showcase yesterday That is with one of the best juniors in the country on his team

That we are still actively pursuing a 2020 strongly suggests a scholarship player on the current roster is leaving soon (end of semester?). Montgomery is a guard, and there has been at least one other 2020 guard whom we have been looking at this fall.

Please, stop with the guards. We need big men, the 6'12" type aircraft carrier.

- or someone we had presumed was on scholarship is not, at least not for next year 2- why would someone planning to transfer be still playing ? 1. If we get a commitment from another 2020, we will have 15 players presumed to have scholarships - two over the limit. 2. There has been speculation that Sandy isn't a scholarship player. I don't believe that speculation is warranted. 3. Some crazy-quilt mish-mash of players that have a scholarship next year not this (or this year not next) sounds implausible to me, but maybe. 4. Why wouldn't a player planning to transfer continue playing? Resume building, perhaps.
In any case, think it's safe to say the 2020-21 roster continues to be a work in progress.

Please, stop with the guards. We need big men, the 6'12" type aircraft carrier. I believe ADMB is quoted in the recent Crusader Nation as saying that 'elite guard play' is the key to college basketball.

Please, stop with the guards. We need big men, the 6'12" type aircraft carrier. Honest question, not intended to be snarky: do you watch much basketball outside of HC? At both the college and pro level, these guys practically don't exist anymore. And when you do find the 6'10 and up guy, they're just as likely to play in the style of Zion Williamson or Giannis, where they're comfortable with the ball in their hands facing the basket rather than their back to it.
If you want to play with tempo, as HCBN clearly does, it's pretty hard to do that when the widebodies are the last guy up/down the court every time. I'm sure we'll take a big wherever we can find em, but I don't think a Pat Whearty/Josh Sankes is walking through that door.

Scholarship status of potential 2020-21 roster:
100% certainty they’re on scholarship:
1. Martindale 2. Rabinovich 3. Humphrey 4. Pridgen 5. Wade 6. Lowder 7. Hargis 8. Niego 9. Copeland 10. Butler 11. Faw
That leaves two scholarships among Reilly, Yeutter, Hart, Verbeek, Sandy. Most believe that Reilly and Verbeek are on scholarship. WG says he thinks Sandy is also on scholarship. All three of those guys cannot be on scholarship but it doesn’t really matter which two it is. If we’re adding another 2020, someone on scholarship is leaving or one of the borderline scholarship guys is losing a scholarship.

Or one of those “borderline” players does not have a scholarship. Thus only one of those five has or will have a scholarship in 20-21
