Very soon after the Fordham game concluded, Fordham published the stats for the game. One stat, which I had not seen before, recorded, by quarterback, the results of each pass thrown: complete or not; yardage; whether first down was gained with the completion; and whether a pass was dropped by the receiver (obviously in some instances, a judgment call). From quickly reviewing these chats, I concluded Considine was more efficient at moving the chains that CD.
I thought, what a neat stat; do they do this stat for running backs, too?
This morning, in the box scores on both the Fordham and HC sites, I cannot find the stat. It appears it was publicly posted by accident, but it is available to the coaching staffs of the participating schools. Are such stats provided to all opponents? It certainly beats having someone chart every play off a tape.

Do you recall how many drops this stat said HC had ? IIRC, three. Considine was recorded as having one drop, CD with two. Again IIRC, 3 or 4 of Considine's 8 completions were for first downs.

Total of 3 drops ?? Well, Asante had at least 3 drops, Mountain at least 2. enough for that progression stat.

Well, Asante had at least 3 drops, Mountain at least 2. enough for that progression stat. I assume there are guidelines for the scorer as to when to record a drop. It may be drops are only counted when the receiver is not impeded or hindered in his ability to catch the ball, and the ball is catchable. The quarterback progression table consisted of several columns. In one column, ever pass was numbered 1, 2, 3....., the next column had an X if the pass was incomplete; 'dropped' if a pass was dropped; yardage and if a first down was also recorded. As this is software generated, there is probably another stat that summarizes by receiver, e.g., targets, catches, drops, some other outcome? As I recall, each quarterback's pass was numbered 1, 2, 3,.... and Considine's passes began with 1, not with 8 or 9 which would have been the sequential number for passes by the team.

My goodness, we need this pass chart to be immediately available on Crossports!!! We all get along too well here and need something to argue about. Phreek, please get on this right away. Drop whatever you are doing, this has to be your top priority.

Drop whatever you are doing, this has to be your top priority. Well, I had to drop chronicling the life and times of Robert Guiscard, my first cousin once removed, just as his prisoner Pope [St.] Leo IX is sending a copy of the Donation of [the Emperor] Constantine (a fake document) to Patriarch Michael I of Constantinople, and basically saying, 'In your face, Michael', and the Great Schism is about to begin, ...... but, hey, the Schism continues and football is more important! A little Internet trick I thought of, it worked, and voila!! The Quarterback Progression Table. fordhamsports.com/sidearmstats/football/individual;team=QBProgression
