Does anyone know what sections are considered the visitor's area in the stadium at Monmouth?

Saying Holy Cross is a walkover is ludicrously delusional. Who is the clown who wrote that? If we don't make changes on offense, it may not be that delusional. Keys for our Offense to Succeed 1. Establish Cozier early through new looks that create advantages at the point of attack. This could be counters, traps, and different versions of power that allow him to use his patience/vision while also getting downhill. This will open up play action and bigger windows for Degenhardt who often struggles with consistency. 2. Degenhardt has to become a more viable threat in the RPO. On handoffs, he has to be willing to pull and take it himself when the defense provides the opening. We also need to use more playaction quick hitters off the handoffs to Cozier to keep the defense honest. 3. Incorporate more 12 personal (1 RB, 2 TE's). This will give the offense a lot more versatility as they will be able to motion the TE's for an advantage in the running game or utilize them in a playaction attack in conjunction with the RPO. Mountain is basically a mannequin in our current offense and tremendously underutilized. This would be a game changer and instant spark for the offense. 4. Inside the 10, avoid Shotgun formations and utilize 12, 22, and 21 personnel (Oliver and Cozier in the backfield). Oliver can double as a FB or ball carrier which provides a lot more versatility for the red zone offense.

Many of us have expressed frustration with the play calling this year but, oddly enough, in PL play Holy Cross finished #1 in both scoring offense and total offense

I'm very concerned about their high-scoring offense.
They've got 2 Payton Award finalists (RB and QB) on offense (the only team with 2 on offense) and racked up 38 and 45 points repectively in wins v Albany and Kenneshaw State (both playoff teams.)
Of course, given their offense, our offense needs to score over 30 (IMHO)…@4crusader3 is on target IMHO.

We might make some adjustments on offense but we are not going to transform it overnight.
My concern is not the offense, but it is around our ability to generate a reasonable pass rush, take away some of the underneath passes(8-12 yards) and most importantly defend the deep ball. Those QBs with an arm, were able to beat us deep or create significant pressure on our DBs throughout the game.

Good Baker Bowl story. Great nickname, "Boom Boom Beck", matched only by John "Way Back" Wasdin and the fictional Sam "May Day" Malone.
"One of Baker Bowl’s most memorable legends related to the right-field wall is a true one. One afternoon in 1934, Brooklyn pitcher Walter Beck drew the short straw and was given the unwanted assignment of pitching in Philadelphia. When he predictably got lit up, manager Casey Stengel came out to get him; a fed-up Beck took out his anger on the wall by launching a long, sizzling throw off it. At its base, right fielder Hack Wilson—four years and a million drinks removed from his historic 58-homer, 191-RBI campaign of 1930—was using the break to lean against the wall and resume nursing a hangover from the night before. When he heard the clang of Beck’s throw hitting the tin wall, he shook himself into action, retrieved the ball and fired a strike to second—all believing the ball was in play. Beck, to be forever known as “Boom-Boom” as a result of the stunt, suddenly became the second angriest player on the field; from their dugout, the Phillies broke into gut-busting laughter."

Many of us have expressed frustration with the play calling this year but, oddly enough, in PL play Holy Cross finished #1 in both scoring offense and total offense Tallest midget. I think we had the best offensive line and running game in the PL, so credit is due there. Degenhardt also manages the offense and game fairly well, so credit also due there. Chesney and Murphy are fairly conservative play-callers on offense -- probably part philosophy and part having to do with personnel. It wouldn't surprise me if we see a trick play or two this weekend. I think we'll need to get a few big gainers / touchdown this way, as opposed to scoring against Monmouth straight up. The good thing is Monmouth won't have any film on this because I can't remember a time this year where we have run a gadget play. Will they call and execute a play like this is a different story.

Not necessarily a gadget play but didn't Jon Jon throw a pass (incomplete) off a Connor backward pass (I hesitate to call it a lateral)?
We don't run reverses, do we? Probably because there is too much defensive penetration.

These are not difficult things to incorporate for an FCS program. But what do I know? Wish I had the ability to read offensive tendencies from a defensive perspective.

Monmouth outhitting has an older team than HC, especially with redshirt seniors (2), graduate students (2) and 5th year players (7). We'll se how m much HC Is hurt by this difference in experience.

Got it-- Holy Cross should be embarrassed by the rest of the conference and should have declined the invitation to post-season play. There's nothing to celebrate

The league is 19 games under .500. We'll get that down to 14 in post season play.

No doubt the league was awful again. 3rd year in a row that only the champ had a record .500 or above. But we were better than the NEC (based on Massey) this year: Patriot: HC 44, Gate 69, Laffy 83, Fordham 85, Bucknell 93, Georgetown 96 , Lehigh 97, 567NEC: CCSU 25, Sacred Heart 72, Robert Morris 78, Duquesne 89, St Francis 90, Bryant 106, Merrimack 113, 573
NEC Champ v PL Champ (a battle for New England) would have been nice to see opening round of the playoffs. But, better Monmouth (23) than Albany (18) or Villanova (11) IMHO.

I’ll be there tomorrow. Picking up a couple 2009 guys from the train station and heading down to the shore. Looking forward to hopefully seeing our first postseason win.
Anyone interested in setting up a CROSSPORTS polar bear plunge at Asbury Park pre-tailgate?
