Now that we are good enough to finally qualify again after 10 long years, I have not seen a Crossporter post complaining about the FCS National Championship Playoffs.
Faux concern last year about academic disruption, travel, relatively obscure opponents, etc. may have just been sour grapes.
We are in it to win it and if that means heading to the Dakotas in later rounds to show we're that good now, I am all in. (By all in I mean I'll watch it on the computer and root for us.)

The IL is nuts to worry about the minor disruptions mentioned and miss this excitement. Definite recruiting advantage to HC and the PL. Unlike other tourneys, the games are only played on Saturdays. How disruptive is that?

We're in the FCS, so we need to win the FCS. That should be the goal. I'd rather compete where the "real" champions are crowned, but that is another galaxy compared to where we are. So, we should continue to strive to win where we operate before we talk about higher aspirations.

The Chronicles of Riddick. I bow to no man. A remake on Saturday by the HC Football team regarding submission and being a walk over. The Saders will bow to no Football team. To paraphrase Jim Harbaugh “We bow to no program”.....here at Holy Cross! www.mercurynews.com/2007/04/02/harbaugh-trades-barbs-with-carroll-we-bow-to-no-man/Jim Harbaugh, was my first and now second favorite college coach regarding being a turnaround agent for change. Chesney with the championship this year has moved to #1.

It is what it is....still not a huge fan of the playoffs...too many teams, takes too long etc.....it's not going to happen (this year anyway) but we would have to win 5 more games to win the title...that's just ridiculous imo.
Would still prefer a bowl game of some sort....football just doesn't lend itself well to a playoff system imo. Your mileage may vary.

As seen by HC in 2016, Four games in March. Now changed to Five games in November, December and January. You got to believe until the clock says 0:00.

This year we could have some sort of a NEC-PL bowl with CCSU hosting (as the higher rated team) HC. But I'd rather see us with a shot at the National Championships heading to Monmouth. (I admit it is like baseball in that we really have no realistic shot at the National Championship and we'd wind up flying all over the place as we advance but you never know how good you are in the FCS until you take on the FCS biggies...)

I totally disagree with hc87 about the FCS playoffs. This is exciting even though we're infants in this process. Who objects to more football? The players certainly don't. Not to worry academic elitists, the guys will still get good grades.

Met a guy in line at a Disney Park tonight who is good friends with Joe Mattingly’s father. He was very impressed with the strength of our alumni network and how well they feel like Joe is set up for when he graduates. The 90-wide at work!
