1) As a walk-on, would Lovisolo be required to sit a year assuming he does transfer? 2) Based on the fact we have seen tweets like this from Lovisolo, Yeutter, and Hart, is it possible Montgomery would be a walk-on? If Lovisolo does transfer, he can get a written release from HC saying he can get immediate eligibility...The NCAA has to agree to this, but it seems it would be a no brainer....zi know, it's the NCAA..... He won’t be allowed to play this year, even with a HC waiver. NCAA has made it fairly clear that a player cannot play for two teams in one season. However there is a good chance he would be allowed to play without having to sit out the fall semester next year.

I noticed Lovisolo was not at either of the last 2 games. Wish him luck. I had thought we had been able to put schollie slot speculation in the rear view mirror, but I guess not. Wondering if either a) he has been offered a pay 1, get 3 years free deal, or b) the offer is contingent upon him doing a post grad prep year (meaning Bo). From the pic at the top here, it doesn't look like an HC background and that Nelson took a quick trip down to Memphis to make this offer (or whatever it is) in person - which would leave me to believe it's not a 'walk-on' opportunity - this staff is doing a good job of keeping us guessing here on the schollie arithmetic for 20-21 Unless NCAA rules have changed, I believe that Nelson traveling to a recruit would make him ineligible to be a walk-on. If even half of Bo's dunking ability and athleticism translate to the defensive end, he would be a great addition to this class. A group of Lowder-Pridgeon-Wade-Martindale-Bo-Bubba at the 1-3 positions would put us in a great position for the Nelson rebuild over the next 3 years.

We have guessed that Sandy is a walk-on, but we aren't really sure. With potentially 15 scholarship players next year, we are clearly missing a piece of the puzzle. Maybe Coach Nelson is going with 15 scholarships and hoping no one notices

a new teammate of Bo's is Moussa Cisse, 6' 11",a transfer from Christ the King in Queens, one of the top juniors in the country in that same game he had,32 pts, 22 rebounds and wait, 21 blocks. I do not vouch for it, but against a weak opponent, possible.

Hearing that Lovisolo "wants to play" (his words) and is transferring to a D3 school.

Extremely disappointing in the number of students that have left the team and Holy Cross over the last 5 years.
Let’s hope this trend stops with his departure.

Maybe a Bo and definitely a Bubba on next year’s team. Crossports will have fun using nicknames instead of initials to identify the HC players. Seems kind of strange that the HC game action picture shown on the tweeted the offer is of Caleb Green. At some point we will know how the scholarship is available given the current roster. A roster restructuring could be underway based on the perception of strengths and weakness of the current roster by the coaching staff. Since the Women’s team currently have two scholarships available, maybe we can borrow one for a year. I say this last sentence in jest. Please don’t take it seriously. According to Verbal Commits HC has offered Kyle Cuffe, 2021 from Blair Academy. He has offers from HC, Manhattan and Stony Brook according to VC. Has anyone seen him play. Breezy HCHoops, any observations? I think Cuffe reclassified to 2022 when he transferred from Avon Old Farms to Blair Academy. I suspect he is aiming higher than his current offers but one never knows. Cuffs has reclassified, playing as a soph for New Hampton School, which played in the NPS yesterday.

At least this one is by choice, rather than misbehaving and getting bounced off the team. This doesn't really bother me much. He wants to play, and knows that won't happen at HC. No big deal.

Keep looking at the roster and wondering who else is not on scholarship or might be leaving If someone other than the shadow knows let us know.
I was thrown out of an AAU U17 National quarterfinal game because after a number of horrible calls I turned to the referee and said I got the message but the shadow always knows-he had no idea about the shadow and said I was making fun of him and said good bye

I think we know there are 9 definite scholarship players returning next year not counting Reilly and Sandy. Most of us think Reilly is likely on scholarship and with the three committed players that would bring us to the 13 player limit. If that's the case and we are still actively recruiting and land another player then one of the returning 10 will have to go. I assume you can over recruit the scholarship limit as long as you get in compliance by the time the freshmen enroll next year. Should be interesting to see how this all plays out.

As NAD suggests, perhaps Bo has a pay one, get three free deal.

He can play for the next 2 1/2 years starting in Sept No. Under no scenario can he play 2 1/2 years. He will probably be able to play the next two years starting in September, assuming he gets an NCAA waiver, which is likely. If he does not, then his choices are to play 1.5 years, starting after first semester exams. Or to sit out until the 2021-22 season and then play two more full seasons. Very unlikely he would do the latter.

In the above reply, I shouldn’t have said there is no scenario. He could actually play three more seasons if he is leaving with a season ending injury. However I have seen nothing about that, so I think it’s very unlikely.

Bo's school, Lausanne, is a high end private school in Memphis, my wife's home town. Web says the school has students from 55 countries with international students accounting for 33% of the student body. Marc Gasol is a grad. Bo is from Olive Branch, MS. Can’t remember HC hoops ever having a player from Mississippi. One site I stumbled upon lists him as a point guard and has interest from Columbia and Dartmouth. URI Rams have shown interest also.
