Reading 'between the lines' in the article definitely seems to indicate that this team is being coached in a different (tougher) style than BG used, and the girls are responding to Coach Mac's approach

The height of URI may be a test for that approach.

The style is definitely different. Coach Mac sideline demeanor seems calmer and more instructive. Would not say tougher. The team seems to be responding positively and less worried about making mistakes on the court. This year’s team is fun to watch.

I have been to only a few games since Coach Mac took over last winter and one this fall. It seems like the players are responding better to her and they seem to enjoy playing the game more. It is tough to describe but it seemed like they were beaten down the last few years from making a mistake in the second minute of a game and immediately being taken out. Now you make a mistake, Coach Mac isn’t “happy” but it isn’t a massive scene like it used to be.

Favored tonight, but still a challenge and good opportunity to game plan and then execute against a team with more height than average. North Kingston, RI is next to Quonset Point, the birthplace of the Quonset Hut for those with fond memories of the HC Field House.

URI lost to BC, 65-55 on 11/21. Despite the height difference, the team should be more than competitive. So far I have enjoyed the team’s performance on the court.
I was at Quonset Point last year for an air show with the Blue Angels. What a fantastic afternoon. You come away with a deep appreciation of the skills required by both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds in their performance. Told my wife it was more thrilling than football. She rolled her eyes and accused me of blasphemy. 🙄😂 I still live and breathe HC football, but air shows with the latest hardware is something to behold.
Yes I did think of Quonset Huts and the field house as I was entering the base.
