I believe that this game will not officially count in our won/lost record. Since it is a Division 3 opponent I believe it is classified as an "exhibition" which may be a good thing this year for us. It is an exhibition for them and a regular game *one that counts" for HC.

OK, let's pretend this game is as "real" as HC's losses to most of our other opponents:
UMASS-BOSTON (with 12,000 UNDERGRADS): PROBABLE STARTERS 21 - Malik Lorquet............F (So, 6'4" 200) 10 ppg / 11 rpg / 2 apg / 28 mpg 1 - Charlie Mitchell..........G (Jr. 5'10" 145) 9 ppg / 6 rpg / 3 apg / 34 mpg 2 - Charles Mitchell.........G (Jr, 5'10" 150) 18 ppg / 5 rpg / 1 apg / 34 mpg 4 - Dasan Cinelli.............G (Sr, 6'2" 175) 13 ppg / 6 rpg / 1 apg / 34 mpg 22 - Michael Boyd...........G (Jr, 5'9" 185) 11 ppg / 4 rpg / 3 salg / 38 mpg
TOP SUBS: 00 - Mariano Rodriguez..G/F (Fr, 6'1" 185) 2 ppg / 1 rpg / .3 apg / 11 mpg 33 - Mark Munroe............C (Sr, 6'6" 230) 3 ppg / 3 rpg / ,4 apg / 15 mpg
The Beacons have a record of 5-2 with losses to WPI (by 6) and to Keene State (by 4 in OT). They are nota bad D3 team, but if you look at their height, it does seem like HC is playing against a high school squad (and not a tall one at that).
I hope this game does not become an embarrassment for either team.

Interesting--the Mitchell twins are named Charles and Charlie--they must have to answer questions about that every day.

They also lost to UMass-Lowell by 43 points in a game similar to tomorrow's game, in that was an official game for Lowell but not counted by UMass-Boston. As mentioned before, Massey ranks them as the #114 D3 team.

Could be worse. They could have George Foreman as their father. I assume you know the story.

Big difference there so not exactly similar in some ways. It will probably be a similar result, however.

How many D3 teams are there ? According to Masssey, there are 426 D3 teams. With so many, #114. may not be all that bad.

Last time we played a Little East Conference member at the Hart, the result was an exhibition loss to RIC.
I see us breaking the century mark against a former fierce women's hockey rival tomorrow night.

Herb Williams, Clark (Special K) Kellogg, Granville Waiters (think he was a freshman and didn't play much). Now, it gets tougher: Jim Smith (another big guy). And I'm going to take a wild guess at #5 and say Kelvin Ransey, even though I don't remember him in the NBA and the only other guy I remember on the team was Todd ? Penn, and he was good but no pro. Of course, I'll comment later after I look these guys up. Worst case, I passed w/a 60% score. I won! Gotta say I was lucky when it came to Ransey. He played 6 years in the NBA too.

This is a game with no more upside for Holy Cross than the Assumption scrimmage. My only hope is that none of our guys get hurt. and we do not get beat

I pay less attention to rankings and metrics than most. Certainly on paper we are big favorites, but the guys have not yet been able to consistently stop anyone. All you need is for a few guys to be in a fog early, and some scrawny little kid on the opposition come out and hit his first 4 or 5 threes, and next thing you know you're down 8 ten minutes into the game.....and the other guys think they have a chance. Now, if our guys come out like that, jet lag or no jet lag, finals or no finals; shame on them. But until I see names like Sagarin or Torvik on the jerseys, or see microchips come out of AB's nose when he gets hit in the face, then I don't take anything for granted. In fact, if it were my choice, I'd come out tonight using the press a lot early, just to make sure the blood is flowing. I want a Full Nelson application tonight!
