There is no talent on this team. Just like every other team (minus football) on the hill. The men's returning leading scorer transferred to sit on the bench in Champaign, IL. No one should expect anything this season. This is a five, six year rebuild minimum. The difference between this program and the rest is this program has a two million dollar budget and can't beat a bad D3 team while other teams get relative peanuts.

BBC agree the roster stinks but you can't lose to a D-3 team Nelson needs to share in the blame for this. And I thought Northeastern was rock bottom. How do you think Mercer feels tonight. Sure, give him some of the blame too. Whatever. I’m more concerned with him doing the right things of establishing a D1 program culture again, recruiting a roster of D1 players (a drastic change from where we are now), and getting guys to start to understand how to play D1 basketball. This is going to be a long rebuilding process.

The powers that be probably won't even know about this loss until someone tells them a week or so from now. Something needs to be done, but we know nothing will.

Oh, UNH, yes, I give them credit. They played their hearts out and even with 3 of their players fouling out, they never gave up and pulled off an upset that they will tell they grandchildren about. If I was a UMass Boston fan, I'd be ecstatic. But I'm not.

Might this game be karma for the arrogant and self-righteous members of this board who think Holy Cross is superior to everyone? Congrats to Umass Boston great for those young men to get a chance and capitalize on their chance. So many of you on here that just live in the past and I realize it's an older board but goodness maybe this will help you see to love your team but also respect your opponents. Yes, you were so so respectful of your HC opponent when we beat you in football. Totally were a class act after the game. Whatever hypocrite - look at yourself.

gks, if Nelson needs 5 or 6 years to re-build, fire him now. You get 100% +/- turnover in 4 years. All his guys, all his style of play. Even HC70 didn't think Milan Brown needed 5-6 years. This loss is on Carmody's players and Nelson's game plan. And, mostly, it's on the players. No excuses. No jet lag. No injuries/illnesses. This was a weak and short D-3 team. Seriously, Nichols would have beaten us by 10-15 points and not need overtime to do it. I am sure each and every one of our players are good, quality individuals. But, this team stinks. I believe I predicted a 10-11 win season. Revising that to 3-4 only because I still believe they will improve and other opponents will have off nights too. 5-6 years is an exaggeration, but this situation is much different than what Milan Brown inherited. By my quick count, Milan inherited 8 guys who would all be significantly better than anyone currently in the Soph-Senior classes Cavataio, Beinert, Keister, Brown, Evans, Beans, Stevens, Dudzinski. Nelson has to figure out how to get through three dead classes while keeping Lowder and Pridgen engaged and continuing to develop. It’s a MAJOR challenge.

Absolutely brutal. Bill Carmody absolutely destroyed the culture of this program and could not possibly have done a worse job with the roster. Nelson is left trying to pick up the pieces, but it’s not easy to make chicken salad out of the chicken s**** that was left on his doorstep. Say what you want about BC as a coach, but his team wouldn't have had 21 turnovers against this team Yea but the entire freshmen class under Carmody would've been rulee academically ineligible or been kicked out of school for disciplinary reasons. So theres that.

Lose to 3-5 Keene State on Saturday, beat Holy Cross on Tuesday. Wow. I'm sure Nelson thought he had a big project on his hands, but I doubt he knew the roster would be this bad. Frankly, this has to raise a question or three about Nelson, too, as well as the state of the locker room.
We're still recruiting 2020s . . .
The thing that disturbs me the most is that we are looking more disorganized and poorly prepared as the season reaches the 33% mark.
I could handle this record a lot better if we were showing signs of progress and starting to come together.
Mark me down as "deeply concerned" that this program, for whatever reason, is spinning out of control.
Let's hope this wakes everyone up and we can laugh about this game at some point as "how bad it was back in 2019-20"

Well, said.
I was exaggerating just a very little bit when I said I saw better team play in the 60's in the fieldhouse during intramurals. We had 5 guys running around on both offense and defense with no evident plan and little synergy.

Can someone please explain to me why Joe Reilly is barely getting any playing, and when he is in the game teammates NEVER look to him when he standing alone behind the three point line ? He makes his only 3 point attempt of the night. The rest of team is 2-13. I saw him play a number of times in high school. He was a deadly shooter. Four year starter at East Catholic and left school as their all time leading scorer. His teams won two state championship in Connecticut playing in the highest division in the state. A number of his former teammates are currently playing D1. (Kansas State, Delaware, ODU, New Hampshire, Yale (2020). This kid was a killer competitor. Why did Nelson even recruit him ? Did he see him actually play in a high school game? If Nelson did, he should have realized Reilly is not a true point guard. More of a combo off the ball player. Great coming off screens and hitting shots in transition. We might be seeing the dark side of college sports. Nelson might be looking for his scholarship because he is unable to utilize his talents.

gks, if it is truly institutional, then what exactly is going to change in 5-6 years? Probably nothing. A new President is desperately needed. One that knows athletics and its value. Spending money isn't an issue. Facilities aren't an issue. Then what is? All roads lead to the college administration and their indifference to athletics over the last 30+ years.

Tough crossisback2 to witness in person. Happy I missed it. Joe Pridgen good job. As upset as I am. Are we supposed to stop playing the rest of the games? Come on team let’s go. We got to be better than this.

In the limited time he has been on the floor, he looks a bit overmatched out there. Just my opinion. He's only a freshman and can grow a lot the rest of the year. His ceiling looks like a 10-15 min backup PG.
