Good one. I remember such discussions late into some evenings, but perhaps I am mistaken (being a member of the Great Class of 1967)

Four Georgetown BB players have announced they are entering the transfer portal. Any indication we are looking at any of them? If they were accepted at GU they should be accepted at HC.

We are right where we should be--just need to do a better job of funding and supporting and recruiting to get better results on the field, court, ice, river, track Nailed it. Lake. (Took a page out of your book)😁. Ky's book that is.

Where's the evidence he in fact isn't ovah his head so far?
I know the rostah is razor thin....but Nelson & co. haven't shown too much so far.
`Not saying he can't succeed here, just that the results so far are a little troubling.

That evidence is currently unavailable. Getting throttled by UMass Boston who then lose to Tufts the next night is troubling, but the coach is going to have the opportunity to build a team ovah the next few years.

I agree...give him a few years....still, I think he really needs a mentor within the program....he is kind of "flying blind" right now...rudderless, needs some guidance imo

I think it's time to stop beating the drum that Coach Nelson is in over his head. Ten games into his first year is way too early for this talk.

Let’s move on from this topic Frustrated and disappointed in the loses of course Unexpected we don’t have a few more wins, perhaps, but not a shock Transitions that require philosophical changes and teaching take time and we all know it
This was going to be a season of inconsistencies and adjustments that requires patience
Go back to George’s first few years and know it will get better
It is never where you start but how and where you finish.
We all bring different perspectives to this conversation which is great, but for the balance of this season let’s look for improvement in play and development of players and then review in March
Happy Christmas Season to all!🎄🎄🎄

Nelson over his head? Last I checked Nelson has not missed a field goal nor foul shot all year. Nor has he committed any turnovers or fouls (don't believe he has been T'd up yet). No, our shortcomings this year are more about execution, not so much about X's and O's, imho. With time Nelson will get this group to execute more consistently and, going forward, assemble the necessary talent to be at least competitive in the Patriot. This, too, shall pass. Better times lie ahead. Let's continue to be patient and loyal.
Go Cross go!

It's not the coach, the roster is bad. Let's see what he can do when he has all of his recruits on board. The coaches recruit many players and the admission office says No. Time for the administration to change the policy. There are many players who could come and also be good students.

Our Admission Office is the white elephant in the room. No one wants to talk about it--especially coaches. It's a third rail. It has needlessly handicapped our Athletics for DECADES by its overzealousness.

Careful, it is the third rail that makes the subway move in the first place. And, where we are right now, the subway may well be our best sway forward.

I'm guessing Ann McDermott must be in her early 60's agewise. By now she must have earned a nice pension. Perhaps when she tires of the winters on the Hill of Pleasant Springs she might retire. Then maybe the tyranny of her Admissions Office will come to an end.

Class of ‘78 I believe (same as Potter and Vicens). Would make her 62-63 assuming graduation at 21-22.

Yes...in. the way they are applied. IIRC the overall rules/PL requirements are the same.

So if Holy Cross chose to compete in a higher level conference years ago, they would have still been able to control their own academic decisions regarding student athletes and not follow the league requirements?

Probably not.
