The trivia answer always used to be Bevo Francis as the player who had scored the most points in one game—for Rio Grande College which sounds like it’s in Texas but which is in Ohio.

So, he shot 36% from 3, article doesn't say what the rest of the team shot from 3, but 53% overall (vs. hotshot hitting a statistical tie 55%) and he shot 74% for FTs and the team shot 83% from the line and "he was hot?"
This was a PR stunt and agree with others, disgraceful.

I still recall some years back when a girl scored 100 points in high school against a much weaker (and depleted) opponent. It got so stupid at the end of the game that her opponents were feeding her the ball on inbounding so that she could score even more. I never understood how the coaches (and refs) allowed that.

This was a PR stunt and agree with others, disgraceful. He scored 18 points before he missed a shot...seems like a hot start to me. Also, when you take out his 3's he shot 22-29 (I only looked through the play by play for the first half, while that included a bunch of layups, there was only 1 dunk mixed in). He also missed 4 3's in the span of a minute, take that minute out his 3 pt % is a very respectable 41.3. I'm sure it was a PR stunt, but just the same, that doesn't negate that he was hot.
