Hurray for the PL, finally recognizing Manis, averaging a double-double for the season, and national rankings, with a weekly POW!

For some reason PL site does not summarize past winners each week for the women like they do for men

Lauren is the same height as Amy O'Brien and the same ferociousness. Now she just needs her PL Championship in a ten team as opposed to eight team league with all schools now having parity in scholarships.* Amy had Anna Kinne, Lauren has Avery, time for another banner.
*Not exactly sure when that changed

hoops, would this make her the "Keith Hochstein of HC women's basketball?"

I can see that comparison. Nice one.

As for scholarships, HC was first (1999 I believe), followed by Lehigh a couple years later- but less than 13. American already had scholarships when they entered in 2001. Bucknell added them in 2003, Colgate about 2004, and Lafayette in 2006.

Amy was class of '99, I think, so perhaps her whole career was on a non scholarship team vs non scholarship league foes, but as you have noted HC devoted more resources to WBB than the rest of the league back then and it was only eight teams.
So if this year's seniors can win the PLT it will be quite a feat to be proud of.

Chris Potter 1789 points, 1019 rebounds? Not even close. Numbers are a small area of comparison. Major ranked Eastern independent vs PL Chris turned down Dean Smith to come to HC.

If AL catches fire at the same time as LM, we are off to the races, and that would leave MS, MS, JS and OL open more, too.

I like the way they list the high school. I don't know much about Bishop Feehan, but Catholic High Schools in general need all the plugs they can get.
I also note the majority of the players listed appear to be from private schools of some sort. I wonder if the Patriot League now has more basketball players from private/Catholic/Christian schools than public high schools and what that means, if anything?

Will these PoW awards secure Lauren the PoY ?

Will these PoW awards secure Lauren the PoY ? I think it will be between Lauren, Ellie Mack Bucknell, Thompson, Colgate & Steph Marcz, Loyola, but most likely either Manis or Mack

I'd guess Manis. Voters love to reward big career milestones, like Sa'eed Nelson achieved, and they are certainly aware of what she has achieved.
