Some observations on the 6-0 Johnson in tournament action last February from PhenomHoops.
"Randy “RJ” Johnson is a quick and crafty scoring point guard. He has a tremendous cross over step back jumper and a beautiful teardrop floater. Johnson has excellent court vision and has the ability to break down the defense with his speed and dribble penetration. Johnson dished out five assists and collected five rebounds."
RJ2 sounds like just what the doctor ordered and may well be a vital part of Coach Nelson's plan for HC's future. I do like the way Ne;son's recruits look so far. We'll see. Welcome RJ2 (or whatever shortened name sticks)!

We really should pump the brakes a bit. A 2020 PG with no offers at this point in the season - especially one who will be expected to play significant minutes here immediately - is a something of a crap shoot. It's a good test of Evans'/Nelson's eyes and judgment for fit, what we need the kid to do right out of the gate in our particular situation - distribute with limited TOs, keep in front of his assignment defensively, and play with intensity at all times, at both ends. He doesn't need to score much.
