If we're going to try to catch up could we have Pridgen in the game seriously. i've been consistently baffled by both the minutes allocation and the substitution patterns all season.

Good portent of things to come. Raymon is tremendous player. CLS playing excellent point. Carmody never played him. Niego was ferocious today. Refs made several bad calls against us.

I'd rather he foul out with 5 minutes to go in the game and him having played 27 minutes, than have him play 23 minutes and not foul out

What has happened to Ivanauskas--projected as POY by some, I think--he has been mediocre all year? I think “mediocre” is a bit harsh. He’s definitely not as good as last year, and he seems to have lost his 3-point touch. But he still is ranked as the #4 player in the PL by Pomeroy’s metrics. I know that offense is only half the game, but in KenPom (not including today's game yet) Ivanauskas has fallen from a very good 109.2 O-Rating to a sub-optimal 91.6. His three point shooting is way off, as you note, but he's also down in pctg on twos and free throws

If this was a veteran team or we had won 10-12 games I can understand the more traditional approach and waiting until the four minute TO.
However, all season with 5-7 remaining the games have gotten away from us so I agree getting him back earlier might have helped get us to or closer to the finish line, even if he fouled out.
With that said, the team played hard, a bit better defensively, more tipped balls, out rebounded Colgate(although we allowed Rayman to hurt us badly at key moments), kept turnovers down although we had a few too many unforced errors, and some balance offensively with 4 in double figures. Point difference and attempts from the foul line was big-a lost opportunity as it was a winnable game

Something has to be done to eliminate Pridgen's two bad fouls he commits. 2 bad fouls + 1 good foul = 3 fouls -> he sits for 1st time + 1 good foul = 4 fouls -> he sits for 2nd time => we lose game.

That game hurts. Just couldn't get anything set up offensively. Just kind of hero ball for us. Frustrating we played such a good first half. We usually always play one really good half and then one poor half and the second half was the poor half. The refs sucked. Watched on TV and the announcers said about the offensive foul on Ryan Wade. "That is a tough call to go against you at home."

Holy Cross played a great game today. They play like a team and just didn’t have enough answers at the end. The effort of these players is outstanding. I enjoyed watching them today more than PC. The PC team has talent but doesn’t play with heart like HC. Coach Nelson is going to be a difference maker. He appears to be a class act.

Re: Pridgen, please remember that HC not only held off Colgate with him on the bench, the team actually built that 7 point halftime lead.

Re: CLS. Before the game with AB watching, he was practicing dribbling, just dribbling, no shooting and doing drills between the legs, behind the back, etc. He actually looked pretty solid. He is not a natural point guard but neither is AB. At least with CLS, that frees AB up for what he does better.
FWIW, I second the posts that this team never gives up and fights to the end. Reminds me at times of Chamberlain's charge at Gettysburg. They've practically run out of ammunition at the end of almost every game so they are forced to make a bayonet charge. Do it often enough and some of those charges will result in wins later in this aging season.

One last comment. I was absolutely astounded at how many fans there were at the Hart Center to watch a 3-win team. Good turnout by the students (who still, too often are sitting on their hands or doing their homework, but at least they were there) and there was a pretty substantial group of Colgate fans as well. Haven't checked the stats for the game but probably close to 2,000, maybe more.

Pridgen got his fourth with 6:21 left when we were down 4. I don’t think it was wrong to take him out at that point. The problem was that the under 4 timeout didn’t come until 1:39 left and down 8. Weird situation. How often is the under 4 at 1:39?

Exciting game team gave everything they had just seemed to run out of gas. Scored 7 points in the last 8 1/2 minutes of play, unfortunately this has happened far too often this season. Agree Pridgen should have stayed in the game after picking up 4th foul, as someone mentioned there were no stoppages of play for over 3 minutes and by the time he got back in the game was lost. Noticed Loyola beat Navy today and their heralded freshman Aldama returned from injury scored 11 points in 17 minutes. Just our luck he recovered in time to face us, never the less I'm anxious to see him play.

I thought then that we needed a timeout to get him in the game That thought definitely crossed my mind. It’s easy for me with my travel teams. We only have one or two good players and they stay on the floor until they foul out.
