I'm betting Tim Clifford.

Clifford is the only guy on the 07-08 team who averaged double digits, so almost certainly has to be him.

So great to see a local kid doing so well. Winchendon is on the border of NH but is still considered a Central Mass town. Can you imagine how chiseled Joe P is going to be after his first offseason in the strength training program. Of course I don't know how much more chiseled he can become. He is kind of like Keith Hochstein and Michael Vicens revisited.

Drive time from Worcester (and no traffic), Pat Benzan might have been closer in Wellesley, but I think Joe is the first Worcester County kid on the basketball team since Vander Baan

R Perry, of course, but his upbringing was mostly elsewhere.

I said "save from Worcester itself", didn't I?
I guess I'd not get hired writing SAT questions!
My guess would be someone who went to St. J, Holy Name, WA, Assumption Prep (RIP), or the like that didn't come from the city. Are there any Worcester County people in that category?
Plenty of athletes in other sports like that.

How about Jon Kerr? Shrewbury, I think
Terry Blaney from Holden was a walk on for a year or so.
----------------
Not a player, but former coach Mark Daignault was from Leominster
----------------------
Point taken - not a lot of Worcester County players from outside the city limits.
The list is a little longer, but not a lot if you expand to all of MA with guys like Benzan, Clifford, and Bettencourt.

Depending what you consider is home, he was either from England or I think inside the city proper

John Kerr is 100% correct, forgot about him. And I should have remembered George's son and where George lived.
I bet we could come up with a couple dozen Mass. kids in addition to named and unnamed Worcester guys and WC guys already mentioned.

Vicens, Perrys, King Gaskins, Siudut(R.I.P.),, Walter Brown, Curry, Greg McCarthy, Vaval, (not sons of) Chris Jayne

Vicens, Perrys, King Gaskins, Siudut(R.I.P.),, Walter Brown, Curry, Greg McCarthy, Vaval, (not sons of) I could be wrong but I think everyone of those named are from Greater Boston. Places like Somerville, West Roxbury, Everett, Braintree are definitely not part of Worcester County. Neither are places out near Springfield in the cases of Westbrook and Godbolt.

Aren't they from Worcester itself? You asked about the county. is not Worcester in Worcester County ? If you include Worcester, the late Matt O'Connor is another one.
