George had a cup of coffee in the NBA. Nelson played in Sweden. I'm considering what Nelson achieved on the court during COLLEGE ....and even in high school. Well in George Blaney's defense, he couldn't have been named to the McDonald's High School All America team because McDonald's couldn't afford a team back then. Hamburgers were only 19 cents.😋

Sota's right that Nelson played at a high level- for the most part, Blaney did too. Making the semis of the NIT was a pretty big deal in those days. I'm not sure what it got HC in terms of a national ranking (top 25, top 50, whatever) but it was a hell of a lot higher than what the NIT semifinalist gets these days.

Tim is right HC played at a high level in the early 60's and making the NIT was a big deal. Blaney was a very good player evidenced by the fact that he made an NBA team prior to the league's expansion. Nelson was a pretty good player but hardly a household name, unless you were a serious hoops fan you certainly wouldn't remember Brett Nelson or who he played for.
