Colgate is a 24 point favorite by Massey (86-62) in Sunday's game and the Raiders have a 97% chance for the win. Ouch.

Not that it matters that much with respect to the thread, but you do know that game day isn't until Sunday, correct?

Yup. No harm. Just didn't want you or others to misappropriate time on a beautiful late winter Saturday in the northeast.

Would have been better if it was today. 40 years from tomorrow, people will still be talking about the “Miracle on Wood” when HC played only 4 players and still beat first place Colgate on the road.

I was honestly startled to see HC stay so close with Colgate in the first meeting. When I watch the team now, I focus on the play of individuals as I look for their improvement. It is still hard to watch at times. I hope today we see some solid defense and continued improvement in rebounding. I have little doubt that HC can beat the spread,..but one never knows. As an optimist, I wish I could say (and mean it when I do) that better days are ahead. With the talented recruits coming in next year, that could be the case and give us a chance to see what the coaching staff can do, but in reality, who knows that for sure? In time, we will see.

Last game was no blowout although I have my doubts about this one. (Edit: I just checked the box score and Matt had a rough time from deep last game v Colgate, going 1-8 and JP may have had foul trouble thus limiting points [10] and minutes [23] )
At this point I have no idea if our incoming recruits will be especially talented relative to our opposition (or even if they will be especially talented relative to our opposition's incoming recruits) but I am assuming at least one of them can crack our starting lineup.

Not expecting a competitive game today but as the old saying goes you never know that's why they play the games. By default we will have a freshman at point guard next year, but after watching him yesterday RJ will not have to be gifted playing time because there is no alternative. I also think Martindale will start and I haven't seen enough of Humphrey to give an opinion but the reports seem positive.

Our recruits have a clearer path to playing time than at many schools. I hope they were still sold on a four year career and a BA from a good school. I don't see how HC can succeed with the one or two and done model.

A really good point and something most of us don't think enough about when framing our expectations. That said, this group of four looks stronger, quicker, and more athletic relative to most of our own recruits of the past four years - and includes the first legitimate big since Floyd, who may not start but should see significant playing time in his first year.

Because of position need, Mike R may get more time than Judson or Bubba, who will both play imo.

colgate's announcers also do the radio so he has to talk a lot of talking to describe the action (not much 'action' by HC - it's already very ugly)

Wade doing a nice job in the defensive mismatch with Rayman that possession. He's also penetrated (and kicked out) a couple times at the other end.

Don't care if the guy is doing radio.....still an irritant. Can't wait till Langel leaves and they slink back into the abyss. Yes, I'm frustrated.

Butler and Pridgen are the only ones who seem interested in competing - Niego has just been terrible on offense - Colgate will have total control of the final margin

Verbeek's first start in 20-21 should be in a D3 uniform, he is not a D1 player
