Looks like Prince isn't the only one on campus (or maybe Bo was here over the weekend). The presence of his parents suggests this was an OV. The hashtag is a teaser . . . So is the uniform number.

Memphis connections If we take 6 we will be more athletic, and add some length and quickness but it is back to Math class to figure out if someone else is leaving or someone isn’t on scholarship

Another indication this might be a six-player class.

While a 6-man class certainly isn’t ideal (there isn’t really anything ideal about the current state of the program), adding 6’5 Bo and 6’8 Prince to a class that already includes 6’4 Bubba, 6’6 Martindale, and 6’10 Rabinovich to go along with 6’5 Pridgen one grade above, and that’s a combination of size and athleticism that we haven’t seen in a long time.
Assuming Nelson is looking to install the “attack” part of his #attackandserve culture, this would be a group of guys (along with RJ and hopefully an improved Wade) that could immediately cause issues for opponents.

Cause issues for opponents? Really?
I think this class will hopefully close the talent gap between us and the rest of the Patriot League, but I think your purple glasses are tainting reality. You seemingly are already anointing this class as a special one who will change the trajectory of the program, but what is this based on?
Who did we beat out for these recruits?
Where do they stack up relative to the rest of the league?
Hcpride, I believe it was, had a smart post suggesting that the incoming recruits appear great because there is such a dearth of talent in the program, but just how good is it relative to the rest of the PL?
I suppose time will tell.
I’ll take a wait and see approach before thinking one class is going to cause problems for the league.

Re: changing the trajectory of the program, our current trajectory is toward a second consecutive last place finish in the PL and potentially a 3-win season. I’ll bet you a donation to the Crusader Fund that this class will be changing that current trajectory.

I care less about who else wanted these recruits and more about the role the coaches have for them and why they chose to select THESE recruits. That idea about other offers seems to assume that other schools know more about players than the coaches now at Holy Cross. On what is that decision about these coaches based?
Please don't waste time by speaking about selected past coaches. What is it about these coaches that makes you doubt their recruiting ability? How did you come to that knowledge in so short a time?

I actually care a lot about what other schools offered. It's the best indicator of how many others view the player as a scholarship player. We all know there are diamonds in the rough, etc, and a player comes into a system that fits them and they play great or it doesn't and they leave, but I want kids with a lot of other offers where HC beat them out to get the kid rather than taking a kid with 1 other offer.
All coaches see 100's of kids. They know for the most part if a kid is scholarship material or not. The more coaches in that camp is a clearer indication he can play at the D1 level. IMO.

All coaches see 100's of kids. They know for the most part if a kid is scholarship material or not. The more coaches in that camp is a clearer indication he can play at the D1 level. IMO. Offers are certainly a great indicator because they are based on how other D1 coaching staffs have evaluated the player. Nelson got this job in July, well into the recruiting process for the class of 2020. His first three recruits brought with them a very good (or better) set of offers. We now have a monstrous roster and talent gap that needs to be filled ASAP, and there are not going to be a large number of guys who make it through the early signing period who (1) have a great set of offers and (2) can get into Holy Cross. That means it's important for the staff to evaluate guys who may have slipped through the cracks during their Junior seasons, and were still available this year. These players are also not going to be receiving a high volume of offers because most teams have already filled their scholarships at this point in the process. Doing a little bit of research on Prince Moses revealed that he was basically an unknown from Louisiana who popped up at NMH and immediately started to get praise as being an "under-the-radar" D1 player. Nelson identified that talent, and, while it's just one source, NERR has now had the chance to evaluate him and have him in the top 40 in New England, grouped with players who are committed to Harvard, Yale, Colgate, UNLV, and UMASS. Perhaps that's an indication that in all of his years around Division 1 basketball, Brett Nelson understands how to evaluate D1 players and can find talented players who may have slipped through the cracks. Would it be ideal to have a PG coming in who had offers from all of the top Mid-Major programs? Of course. But that was not the reality of our situation over the past 7 months since hiring Nelson, and instead we have a player who just scored 30+ points in almost single-handedly leading his team to a state championship against a 5-star recruit and who has received high praise from NC scouting services for his play during his senior season. I'll happily take that guy for the next four years.

Bo’s Lausanne team received a bye into tonight’s opening round of the state tourney. With All America junior center Moussa Cisse they would seem to have a good chance against anyone.

Sign me up for a 6 man recruiting class this year. With the rules changing regarding transfers, there is a very strong likelihood that we will see more transfers at Holy Cross over the next couple of years. Unless we are active in the transfer market, I would prefer to have close to a full roster.
Obviously, that means quality recruits which I believe Bo and Prince are and not just using a scholarship to use one.

As long as “reaching out” and “showing interest” do not result in offers of a scholarship, we are still in it.

In tonight’s 58-46 opening round playoff win, Bo led with 21 and 5 assists He went 10-10 from the line. RJ Johnson was 12-13 from the line in his final game for Charlotte Latin. In the WA game today, Cushing was called for a technical and Martindale got the nod to take the free throws, so presumably he has been very good there, too.
I would expect our FT% to improve next year.
