Without getting political, is it truth or reality that the US has gotten overly dependent on pharmaceuticals from other nations? Can whoever ends up in control of the nation the next several years make changing this a priority?

I think that process is starting now--trying to bring manufacturing of pharms back to the US. I had no idea we were so dependent on China in this category.

Big Pharma is bottom line oriented - they will buy wherever they can make the most profit. The switch to increasing the domestic ability of the US to produce our needed drugs in this country is underway. Of course, financial help from tax breaks would certainly make things go faster...again that bottom line.

That is true for every industry or the board of directors and senior leadership would be removed. PhRMA has changed our lives for the better Do companies charge too much or do insurers require deep rebates( I think of them as kickbacks) to cover the drugs on formularies—gross to net is a very big issue politicians ignore-but yes gross prices are higher than they need be

Yes, you can bring it back, but then the cost of health care in the United States will rise, and health care in the U.S. is already the most expensive in the world. Expensive pharmaceuticals are manufactured in the United States, as these are low volume production where labor cost, and/or cost of raw materials are not a factor.

Will BC have Spring Practice? Be nice to catch them unprepared with a new coach and Chesney's tight organization giving us a slight increase in competitiveness.

As long as it costs billions to bring a drug to market, and as long as there are frivolous law suits against drug manufacturers that need to be defended, don’t expect the price of drugs to come down anytime soon. My dog can get a Lyme vaccine but my kids can’t. Says it all.

/\ "The Patriot League is actively assessing the spring athletics season, and more information will be provided shortly to those impacted." From yesterday's HC announcement. goholycross.com/news/2020/3/11/athletics-important-information-regarding-coronavirus.aspx
Since the Ivies pulled the plug on their spring season, we (and other PL schools) are emptying our campus, and there is no HC spring football I am guessing we'll cancel the spring PL season. Aren’t our spring seasons already cancelled given that students were all told to go home?
