Fr. B. dispatched a missive several days ago, addressed to members of the PC.
Highlights
Present >Admission numbers to date (as of the end of Feb) "are right on target."
>HC anticipates spending over $70 million on financial aid next year.
>HC is very close to reaching the $400 million goal of the Become More campaign. With the Power of Purple giving challenge coming up on April 17-18, HC hopes to exceed the campaign goal
Future The time period covered by the college's current strategic plan ends this June. A new strategic plan is being drafted and will be ready for BoT review and approval in April 2021.
The next strategic plan will address the "challenges we are and will be facing as we seek to continue to be a highly selective Jesuit liberal arts college. The challenges include access and affordability, financial sustainability, demographics, liberal arts in the 21st century, and the ongoing development of our campus community
The plan must set out continued investment "in the infrastructure and future of the campus, ensuring that our programs and facilities are relevant and competitive in the marketplace. All of this is a great balancing act!" ______________________________ I have to say I know more than a bit about strategic planning, but I have yet to see a copy of the current plan, and there is no indication of alumni views being solicited and considered. Maybe they know of my reputation as a hard grader.

______________________________ I have to say I know more than a bit about strategic planning, but I have yet to see a copy of the current plan, and there is no indication of alumni views being solicited and considered. Maybe they know of my reputation as a hard grader. In discussing/describing the strategic planning process, I thought I read words about it systematic and including all stakeholders. I would be astounded if alumni are not included in the process as stakeholders. Now, who those alumni are and how they are included ...
