Now it's time to push forward for acceptance to Hockey East. With the 18 scholarships we should be in a top notch league with even less travel. It would be a big benefit to play UNH, Maine, Boston U, Boston College, Umass, Providence, Merrimack with less travel and not have to travel to Air Force, Robert Morris, Niagara etc.

Have we indicated that we will go to 18 ? David Berard, Holy Cross Head Coach: "Obviously, this is a very exciting development for Atlantic Hockey. Thanks to the quality and talent of the players, coaches, and administrators, we have witnessed tremendous growth as a league in recent years. This announcement is the next step forward in our evolution as a conference. Implementation of scholarships to the full NCAA allotment signals the continued commitment to raise the profile of our league, which will have a resounding impact on recruiting student-athletes to our member schools and provide us a level playing field as we compete against schools from the other five Division I conferences."

Funny how he does not mention how the move to 18 scholarships will help HC but rather only how it will help the conference. Why does it feel to me like we have not fully committed to going to 18?

Read between the lines. Perhaps HC is not fully committed to the AHA...

This will be the perfect excuse to stay in the Atlantic League. Another Holy Cross disappointment coming.

Or not. I'll predict right now this happens. Too many things seem to have aligned with this not to happen. New era on campus and I feel bad for people who can't realize that.
