If we are not all sheltering in place.

Solid win, glad I went to the game. Surprised at how poorly Lafayette played, nice to see HC win without their A game. First half was difficult to watch.

This win will probably guarantee Annie getting the job. Can't really see them going through a search.

This win will probably guarantee Annie getting the job. Can't really see them going through a search. I'm curious why you think winning one game, at home vs an over-matched opponent, would guarantee her getting this job after the team underachieved much of the year. I would think that at minimum she needs to get to the Final.

I am curious why you think that a win over a team with an identical record in the PL should not count?

She is a competent coach. Has been coaching under difficult circumstances. Players seem to love her and if the interim label is removed would make recruiting easier. AD's don't look at it the way fans do. Its a postseason win and that is an accomplishment considering the cloud surrounding the program.

Look back at what I said and what I was responding to. I am sure many fans of the HC women's team would have an opinion similar to mine.

I read what you wrote and while rgs's comment wasn't 100% accurate, it certainly reflected the spirit of what you wrote. By the way, I don't think the team under achieved at all. In fact, the whole was a little bit better than the sum of its parts. All of the teams ahead of us in the standings had deeper and better teams, I think.

Underachieving by whose standard? As we have all heard endlessly, they were picked to finish 2nd in the preseason poll & finished tied for 3rd. I don't think this was the best year for the PL prognosticators:
Patriot League Women's Basketball Preseason Poll Lehigh – 140 (9 first-place votes) Holy Cross – 138 (5 first-place votes) Bucknell – 132 (4 first-place votes) Boston University – 113 American – 103 (2 first-place votes) Colgate – 78 Loyola Maryland – 74 Navy – 44 Lafayette – 42 Army West Point – 36
Final Standings: 1. Bucknell 16-2 2. Boston University 12-6 3. Colgate 11-7 3. Holy Cross 11-7 3. Lafayette 11-7 6. Lehigh 10-8 7. American 8-10 8. Loyola Maryland - 5-13 9. Army West Point – 4-14 10.Navy- 2-16

So you guys who are pumped to see AM get the interim tag dropped are ok with us going 0-6 vs bucknell, Colgate and BU You’re also ok with this year’s soph and freshman recruiting classes - thats crazy

Army West Point – 4-14 10.Navy- 2-16 I wouldn't think a team projected for third place would have a projected league record much better than the 11-7 posted by the women this year. Just an observation, that's all.

Not ok with last two year's recruiting classes. However, everyone being recruited assumed BG, not AM, would be head coach.

Look back at what I said and what I was responding to. I am sure many fans of the HC women's team would have an opinion similar to mine. I made up nothing. You may have forgotten, but this is what you posted: "I'm curious why you think winning one game, at home vs an over-matched opponent, would guarantee her getting this job after the team underachieved much of the year." Once again, how does a team with the same PL record count as an "overmatched opponent?" What was it that you say I made up? For what it is worth, I find your post about what I said to be 100% inaccurate - since I was, in effect, quoting you. Care to explain how Lafayette was an "overmatched opponent?"

I have a feeling whatever transpired with Faulkner and Parks will have some bearing on next steps. A lot of different ways this could go.
Does anyone know how the next incoming class ranks vis-a-vis the last couple?

The 2020 class will become fan favorites. All 4 have been tested at the HS, AAU level etc. and toughness, passion, superior skill sets, and leadership qualities is what you will be getting.

Does anyone know how the next incoming class ranks vis-a-vis the last couple? Yes, we don't know if AM is perceived as a victim of, or a contributor to any element of the interesting events of the past two seasons. However the players appear to like her. On the other hand no player has made even a hint of complaint about anything over the past two seasons that I have noticed. A remarkable and very easy to root for group. To me AM is the perfect candidate to be the Head Coach with no interim tag, on either a one year contract or employee at will basis. That places the power of performance incentive for the coach and financial protection for a small college in their proper place. Winning seasons are so rare at HC it would be unusual to fire a coach with two in a row. Next season will be challenging for whoever is coach (probably a losing season). There is no reason to think any of our other winter revenue sports (MBB, MH, WH) will have winning seasons next year so we don't need four losing coaches with multi year guaranteed contracts hanging over a new AD's head, imo.

That's not how it works. If you gave a coach only a 1-year contract your program continues to have an air of uncertainty around it. It would kill recruiting. You either have to offer AM at least a 3-year contract or open the position up. The way I see things you need to give the head coach at least 3-4 years to get this program going again.

Agree, she will either get a 3/5 year contract with a favorable buyout to HC or they will move on. I assume that the decision will be forthcoming within the next week or so. I do know that this idiotic interim approach has already hurt them on the recruiting side. I've been told by some AAU folks that was used against them on the recruiting trails. Kids want some level of certainty when possible.

Kids want some level of certainty when possible. If a favorable buyout is financially close to an employee at will or a one year contract then we are on the same page. I believe SK got paid three full years for no work which I find hard to justify in today's economic reality. When a coach like AM has been at a school for 10-12 years that is pretty stable. And the previous coach worked at the school for 35 years or so. The higher education bubble could pop anytime so I would like to see HC be smart with it's money. It's amazing how things can turn on a dime and the public just stops paying $300K for a B.A., or A.B. as HC calls it. Caronavirus or anything else could be the catalyst. But let's shock the world at Bucknell before that happens.
