Tough turnaround after the long flight back from Cal but here we are on March 10th and it will be 60 degrees at game time (crazy) as the northern portion of the schedule begins. Not sure if our ace Luke Dawson will be available as he's only had 3 days rest after pitching on Friday at Cal Riverside. That might mean we will start soph Connor Crotty who last pitched on Thursday and had all sorts of control issues.
both teams are 5-9 but as you can imagine BC has had a tougher schedule and are coming off being swept in 3 games at Clemson over the weekend.

Down 5-1 in the 3rd inning - BC is a schollie program and it's showing - our pitchers continue to struggle with control, walks and hbp's all over the place.

I thought they were nuts to drop lacrosse and keep baseball given that they were going into the ACC...but their baseball program has done reasonably well in that league.

Lost 10-7 and left the bases loaded in the 9th. Outhit BC 14-10. Our team is showing some good signs - just need more pitching to develop and hopefully get Dvorak back

BC is 6-9 on the year and 0-3 in ACC play. They have two losses to North Carolina A&T this year. BC has not finished over .500 in ACC play under their current head coach Mike Gambino which goes back to 2011. Yes, they won a regional and went to game 3 of a Super Regional but besides that one year, they have not been back to the NCAA tourney.

Fully understand you bleeding purple and disliking BC. I do as well but...........And a mid week game against BC pitchers seldom used determines nothing. 6 of BC's losses were against #8 Arizona St and #23 Clemson. Both on the road. Their schedule has #2 Louisville, # 7 Miami, # 11 NC State, #25 Virginia, FSU ( Massey # 16) and ND ( Massey # 21). ACC also has Duke # 10. Every ACC team that BC plays has a higher ranking than all the PL teams ( Navy is top at #111, Buck is #265, Laf # 262 and Leh # 246 out of 300). So likely BC will finish near the bottom and have to win a significant # of games in ACC tourney to make the NCAA tourney. Last year they beat Clemson, beat #7 Louisville then lost to # 17 NC. A tremendous showing in ACC play. Not a BC fan. Just pointing out that there is 0 comparison in baseball and in all sports for that matter.

Given BC plays in the ACC, despite what a certain poster thinks, they do fine in baseball relative to the competition they face which currently includes 7 squads in the T25.

to answer trimster's question in one word: 'no' (thanks to title IX, we distribute 4 schollies to our softball team which has a tough time competing in the PL)

When you play 30 games in ACC play, you will have some wins over quality teams just by default but I would not consider them having success in ACC play. All you have to do is basically go .500 in ACC play to make the NCAA tournament which they have ONE appearance in the last nine years.
