Congrats to Bucknell. The HC women are in a similar predicament as the 1980 summer Olympic team. Athletes like marathoner Bill Rodgers had a shot at a medal but were not able to compete through no fault of their own.

It's disappointing for the Bison, too because they were guaranteed a national post season slot in either the NCAA or NIT.

A few thoughts about tomorrow's semi against Bucknell. LM will have extra incentive to have a big game after POY was awarded to BU's Mack. In previous two contests, our offense was terrible. 40pts and 45 pts; 27.6% and 33.3%; 6/28 on threes. LM was the only player in double figures in both games. AL had zero points and 4 tos in first game, 8pts in second. Bucknell was only a little better, offensively, averaging 58 pt. In last quarter of first loss, Bucknell was 1-13 but we were only 2-16. If we can continue to play good defense and get a couple of players to supplement the scoring of LM, we will win. Game would have ended right about now and we won by one on a Manis 3 pointer from mid court! After the game, Mack gave the POY award to Manis stating "you were clearly the best".

In the spirit of Robert Champion’s buzzer-beating 3 pointer against Bucknell that propelled the men into the NCAA tournament and considering BU’s upset over Colgate in the men’s bracket last night, and as there is no formal rule that gives Bucknell the sole Championship, I will still consider our woman’s team as PL Co-Champions

If the tournament is canceled for medical reasons, the number one seed is awarded the championship and the auto-bid to the tournament, assuming the tournament is played.

Sader Fan raises an interesting point. The 2019-20 WBB team only won one game in the PLT but that is a greater accomplishment than winning one game and then losing the next game because this year's squad never lost a game in the tournament. They are co-runners up. Congratulations HC WBB.

Took a quick look at the construction cam at 7 AM this morning for The Jo, and it looked like the team bus was arriving back on campus. Don't know why any other Fox bus would be on the Upper Campus Road this morning.

I'm sure it was quite an odyssey whatever the details are.

Where exactly were our women at the time the PL announced the cancellation? If our women were at the site or in transit, the PL should have had the game played with no fans, no streaming, no radio, etc. THAT'S putting the athletes first.

Unless one buses 6 hours to a game on game day, they were on site and I would imagine Lehigh was at BU as well. I won't voice an opinion other than that.

They would have then been the only conference still playing at that point. On optics alone the PL would have taken a beating.

These athletes are in their late teens and early 20's, healthy inasmuch as they are catered to by a athletic medical dept and in tip top condition. The chances of them contracting the virus such that it would lead to serious health problems is remote--based on everything I read, see and hear. These athletes dedicate hundreds of hours of sweat to achieve a conference championship. They are incredibly competitive. My guess is that if they were polled they would have wanted to play the game under the conditions I described above. One thing I learned in my long career is that organizations pay their highest attention to their lawyers and the risk of LIABILITY. It's NOT REALLY about.....the good of the employees, customers, players, etc. So I don't pay much attention to the bromides about "the good of our......." "Suit Avoidance"--that's the ticket.

You are probably correct in each of those points. Masses in our Church have been cancelled this weekend.
