The HC admissions office must have its hands full at this point.
No doubt the economic and Coronavirus uncertainly has hit many parents and the looming RD decision day (May 1, 2020) means they'll be some very tough decisions to make very soon. This might conceivably even have some effect on ED kids/families. Parents may not even be certain campus will be open in the fall. We are running a 'virtual' open house on April 19. Given our relatively high cost and relatively middling financial/academic merit aid we could get smacked around when it comes to yield (the percentage of accepted students actually enrolling) and may wind up dipping pretty deeply into the waitlist
I did read that BC waitlisted a very large number this year (6.5K) as one means of addressing the uncertainty and I am sure HC took similar steps.
HC is certainly not alone and there are all sorts of negative economic impacts heading towards our colleges in general.

P/F on “all” classes seems a little extreme, but some degree of P/F option is being offered at a lot of schools for the spring semester.

I believe the pass/fail option was employed at HC during the strike of 1969 or 1970
