Jacob Radaker leaves Navy for Chattanooga was he on Navy's roster? Not the varsity. Maybe the JV. Navy rostered 24 players on their varsity. He was not one of them. Coming out of HS, he had no D1 offers. I am assuming he is going to Chattanooga as a walk-on.

Per a post on his Instagram account six days ago, Joe Pridgen appears to be transferring to Northeastern. I have not seen any reporting on his transfer there, however.

3 schools in 3 years. Not what the transfer rule is for.

But it is what the NCAA created

Joe had delusions of grandeur. Not any more.

Joe did well at both schools and the stats suggest he would be an asset at most mid major schools. There is a question mark in my mind about the intangibles. If a kid transfers, I think anyone can have a bad fit. If a kid transfers twice in two years, I start to question maybe it's not the fit - maybe it's him.
As we talk about what the NCAA created, I'm curious if he'll have to sit a year with this transfer. Does HC=>UNCW count as the one "free" transfer meaning he'll have to sit a year as this is his second transfer? Or was 2020-21 a special COVID year so that the transfer waiver issued doesn't count as the "free" transfer? Doesn't really affect HC. I'm just curious how it will be implemented

Unlike Pridgen, he had a terrible year at EMU - injuries, unexplained DNPs, defensive problems, shooting six times as often as he dished and making just 30% of those shots. Don't know how many D1 coaches will be willing to take a chance on him with his history, on and off the court, to date.

It may or may not be a factor, but part of Lowder's history is the fact that he left the team mid season

Never mind basketball, I just can't get how kids would want to have to constantly uproot and go through the acclimation process over and over again.

I always hope for the best for all our players and former players. I really enjoyed seeing JG have some success in the “Big 10” this year. That said, I’d much rather see all our signed recruits grow, develop, and succeed at HC for four years.

This latest transfer may indicate he's maturing and realized he didn't think through transferring to Wilmington, NC. He will have more support back here in his home State. If he has to sit a year, NU is set up for co-op education over five years anyway. I wonder how paid co-op job placements in his field of study interact with a full athletic scholarship?

In regards to Lowder, someone had Tweeted last week that he might be heading to BYU. Lowder replied to that Tweet with the "interesting set of eyes" emoji, but it looks like he has since deleted that Tweet. BYU was one of the schools he was considering before landing with EMU

I had an interesting conversation with my son the other day. He was a D2 soccer player, and thought the new transfer rule was great for the players. He suggested players who were recruited and sold a bag of rocks by the coaches, could easily move from that school and find a place where they fit better and still stay on track to graduate on time. I had never thought of those players.. The players who go to 3 schools in 3 years, they didn’t make good decisions!

The cult of personality that builds up around some high profile ( mostly BB) coaches is unappealing to me.

If Lowder struggled in the MAC, I doubt he would succeed with a team like BYU, a team ranked in the top 25 for much of last season, and in the NCAA tourney

If Lowder struggled in the MAC, I doubt he would succeed with a team like BYU, a team ranked in the top 25 for much of last season, and in the NCAA tourney BYU ended up 20th in the final Pomeroy rankings. Eastern Michigan ended up 289th. I agree that he would struggle mightily at the BYU level. BYU, by the way, was ranked 13th in the nation the year before.

We'll never know but if Lowder had a turned ankle before the season opener vs Maryland and couldn't play in that game during his partial season at HC, he might still be here. He lit the Terrapins up and maybe it was too much, too soon.
