I am not a Patriots fan, but I have always respected Brady's talent and the way he executed Belichek's game plans. My condolences to New England fans.

My condolences to New England fans. No one died or was injured, so think all parties should be okay.

In the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes. You are right about that. Even with so many people talking about his departure for some time now, as far back as his last game last season, some are acting as if this were a complete surprise. I guess that shows how important he was to some of his fans...and that is why I sent condolences. No sarcasm intended.

It's too bad he could not finish his career as a Patriot.

Condolences đź’” appreciated. I'll be rooting for whatever team Brady goes to as well as the Pats next season.

What a St Patty's Day this is....no bahhhs open, no TB12...... In all seriousness, diehard Pats fan since they were playing at Hahhvid Stadium, I was sick of all the drama etc...time to move on for both sides. I think this effects more Pats fans undah 35 or 40 or so....the older fans appreciated the dominance of the Pats/Brady era but knew it was an anomaly that had to end at some point.

Brady telling Belicheat F-you is the best news of the month. Enjoy your foreseeable future as a 6-10 club patsies honks.

I’ll take the “over” on the 6 wins if the Pats play a full season

Belichik is more important to the Patriots than Brady.

At least go someplace with decent uniforms. Or bring back the all-white John McKay duds.

It was a great ride, but it had to end
I'd feel worse if I thought there was a legitimate chance the Patriots would win the Super Bowl. The second half of last season showed that even though they're still near the top, they don't seem like an elite team. Just a notch below the Baltimores and Chiefs of the world.
If people recognize my posts, I'm pretty much a New England sports homer, but I'm old enough to know that this isn't the first time the GOAT has left town in the twilight of his career

I wonder if the Boston Globe will assign a beat writer to the Bucs for next season? Glad Tom will be appreciated in Tampa.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Brady was not great this past year. At some point, Father Tim wins out. Going to a team that allowed 47 sacks last year seems to give FT an added advantage.

Brady was the most successful NFL QB of all time. It was fun being a fan but whether it ended this year or next or the one after that, it was coming soon. I am ready to move on and see what they can do.

A bit of an exaggeration- HC87, according to his 87 grad year, was 5 when the Pats final game at Hahhvid turned into a massive snowball fight. Probably made a bunch of trips to Shay Fa Stadium (doing my best Howard Cosell imitation) however.

If people recognize my posts, I'm pretty much a New England sports homer, but I'm old enough to know that this isn't the first time the GOAT has left town in the twilight of his career Except the last time I remember someone using the phrase "twilight of his career" w/regard to a Boston star, it was Dan Duquette talking about Roger Clemens; and Rocket Man (and some chemicals) made him regret saying that! I just get the feeling halfway during the season, BB was telling his staff "can you friggin believe we're 8-0?". Stuff like the Brown signing, in retrospect, reeked of desperation. They knew Gordon would mess up, and, after dumping him, he did. Sanu was a decent pickup but sprained his ankle and was a shell of himself. Julian Edelman, one of my favorite guys, is running on fumes. There's a lot of holes on the team and, although I'm being overly simplistic, 30 million to one very-good-but-very-risky-player doesn't patch them up.

Not intentionally stolen from Duquette, but I think phrase does apply here. I certainly wasn't thinking Clemens was the GOAT. The GOAT I was referring to as leaving town to go to another team was Bobby Orr when he finished his career with the Blackhawks

There’s a long list of all-time greats who played “one more year” or maybe a few more in very strange uniforms: Willie Mays, emmitt Smith, Joe Montana, Harmon Killebrew, jerry rice, Bob Cousy come right into mind

Cousy was the only one who took more than a few years off between leaving Boston and playing elsewhere

As a Bucs fan living in New England, I like it and hope it leads to championships. Never have rooted for Brady before.
