Coach Nelson turning the page on 3-29 here. Fired up for better days ahead. Using a famous quote by a previous coach -- "fingers crossed." Recruits tend to look good on paper, but I'm very much in the wait and see camp with Nelson and a few of the newcomers. I think we have a nice "plug the hole" player with Townsel, but besides Martindale and Rabinovich who had a good number of offers, the other guys were largely unwanted by other D1 schools. Often times, we judge recruits by who else offered them, and four of the six newcomers had a dearth of offers. The six newcomers may look good by recent standards at Holy Cross, but I'm interested to see how they stack up against other PL schools / comparable mid majors. "Largely unwanted" is a big stretch. We have finished in last place in the PL each of the two years and have been below .500 for the last 6 seasons. Aside from hiring Rick Pitino, recruiting wasn't going to turn around overnight so we could start competing with the Davidsons and Harvards like we did with RW. Did you expect Nelson to get this job in July, following a last place finish in the PL, and immediately start picking off recruits from the IVYs and A-10s a couple months before signing day? Let's be real here. This first class for Nelson checks virtually all of the boxes you could hope for given the timing of him getting the job in July and where our program has been. Recruiting is only one piece of the puzzle at HC, and probably a smaller piece than Player Development. Nelson now has a nice group of pieces to work with to start showing what he can do in that department. And I would also expect our recruiting to improve now that Nelson and RJ will have full recruiting cycles to work, and the results on the court will also improve.

Bo was chosen on the second team for the Commercial Appeal (local Memphis newspaper) All Metro squad. His teammate was chosen on the 8 man first team. There was a short write up on the first team members but nothing for the second team players.

Looking forward to seeing him in purple.

Cisse committed to Memphis today, looks like he didn't re-class.
