One of the former high school beat writers that covered Lauren back in the day caught up with her recently to discuss her college career. One interesting part is Lauren looked into transferring with the internal turmoil in the program. www.theownersbox2020.com/2020/04/the-owners-box-ep-20.html

Oddly enough, very similar to her recent letter/comments published on the HC website: "I thought back to freshman and sophomore year, which were two of the most difficult years of my life. We were a losing program, winning only 21 out of 61 games. Coming into my freshman year, I held such high expectations for my career, and those expectations seemed so far out of reach in those first two years. My time as a collegiate athlete was not going as planned, and I considered transferring. But in the end, I chose to stay for my teammates — my best friends. I started this journey with them, and wanted to finish it the same way."goholycross.com/news/2020/4/9/womens-basketball-from-the-hart-lauren-manis.aspx

Enjoyed the whole session. It's almost as if the 13 members of the HC WBB team were enrolled in a joint program at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts. None of them have ever taken a swipe at a specific individual during the "troubles" in the program which have been contained within the adult coaching staff. That's quite a classy group of athletes that have represented HC.
Great insight about mastering the overhead jump shot and the benefits of a sports psychologist.
