Thanks. Have been searching in vain for the 1997 game (lost 87-76) when Amy set the school record for points (38), against a Husky team that went to the Elite Eight.

Playing UConn was a vanity trip for Gibbons and nothing more.

Playing UConn was a vanity trip for Gibbons and nothing more. Let's not have this debate again.

We should have a thread someday in football or men's basketball called "Dead Horses"; that is, all the topics we (me included) posters have beaten to death over the years.
The UConn/HC women's basketball series would no doubt be in there.

Would be nice & tidy as whole forum would be reduced to one thread.

Playing UConn was a vanity trip for Gibbons and nothing more. And you know this because you've talked to exactly how many Holy Cross women's basketball alumni over the years? Or does their opinion not matter?

The UConn WBB program has many constituencies. E.g., season tickets are quite expensive. To subject those fans to an event (playing HC) which is not a contest but an exhibition instead isn't fair to those fans and disrespects the money they spent to see actual bball contests.

UConn women haven't played a non conference game against a New England school since the 2013-2014 season when they played Hartford and BU. They went to Hartford in 2012-2013 which was the first time since Dec. 23, 1990. They also went to Colgate in 2015-2016 which was Breanna Stewart's "homecoming" game.
