How about a simple yes or no answer if a decision has been made. If no decision has been reached let the fans know if one will be coming soon.

Why should the college respond if 1.) there was never an official invitation, 2.) there was never a request to join, and 3.) there is no indication that the Board of Trustees has ever authorized ADNP to request affiliation, or to respond to an official invitation..

In other words, ain't happening. What the college does is what it perceives to be for the good of the college, not the fans. See Big East, new Big East here.

Well, it would certainly appear that travel costs per season in HE would be significantly less than what exists now. Just one angle but that would be for the good of the college, right ?

Methinks pp did a financial analysis of such a move. Cost goes higher.

I know that the school wants the best for the school and players, so don't complain if the fans stay away from the games. Look at how the attendance has gone down hill when the football and basketball teams joined the Patriot League.

Look at how the attendance has gone down hill when the football and basketball teams joined the Patriot League. Actually, attendance in hoops stayed up for years after joining the PL. HC has been in that league for well over 6 years. Just because one thing follows another in time, it does not indicate an automatic cause/effect relationship.

TV Ratings:
NCAA Hockey Frozen Four Semifinal 1 (6:00 EST): 178,000 NCAA Hockey Frozen Four Semifinal 2 (9:45 EST): 155,000 NCAA Hockey Frozen Four Championship: 467,000
NCAA Basketball PIG - NC Central vs UC Davis: 1,198,000 Lowest Rated NCAA First Round Game (Thursday Afternoon, 3-4 games on at same time): 566,000 Lowest Rated NCAA First Round Game (Thursday Night, 3-4 games on at same time): 1,217,000 Lowest Rated NCAA Second Round Game (Saturday Evening, 2 games on at same time): 1,576,000
NIT First Round: South Dakota vs Iowa (Wednesday Night, 9:00 EST) (opposite Providence vs USC NCAA PIG): 502,000 NIT Championship: 1,081,000
Our hockey program is MILES away from even getting to the Frozen Four, and our basketball program still needs serious improvement.
Not quite sure there is much upside in dumping millions of dollars into the hockey program right now, with such limited upside.

Methinks pp did a financial analysis of such a move. Cost goes higher. I looked at what BC, BU, Northeastern, and PC spend playing M/W hockey (in campus rinks) in HE, and compared it to HC's present level of spending on ice hockey. My only conclusion was that the magnitude of the increased cost (loss) was such that the BoT would need to approve such an increased expenditure, before any discussions about applying for HE..

Why do people forget that HC was all-in on HE under the inept DR regime (runner up to UConnvict), and would have accepted it if offered? No different this time other than being boxed out by (for the moment) by the owner of the ferkakta Railers. HC was prepared to accept a bid then, and would accept it now.

Wait....wasn't that the ECAC when we lost out to Q-pac ? AIR, McFarland was AWOL when HC was visited for dog and pony show, yes ? I think we all couldn't believe he was absent.
Or am I misremembering ?

HC botched an ECAC bid too, but HC was bridesmaid to UConn when they got HE nod. That's fact, not opinion.

As we have discussed here a thousand times there was no way Hockey East was going to not take UConn whose women's program was already in the league. Once our women are announced as the newest team in Hockey East we will have a similar in when we figure out the situation at the DCU Center.
