Dartmouth-Brown drew fleas at Fenway....though it was a terribly cold night I believe.
I just don't think an HC game at Fenway is that big a draw for most HC alumni/fans...most have been to the venue countless times...not saying we shouldn't do it, just not seeing the big draw for such a game.

I would honestly prefer a packed Polar Park to a half empty Fenway.

Would BC give HC a home game at Fenway?

HC-BC is about the only game at Fenway that makes any sense for us imo and even then (personally) I'd rather tailgate/socialize/actually watch the game at BC rather than bars etc around Fenway, watch a football game at Fenway which is known to be poor for football.
If we were to play a "pie in the sky" opponent like a Michigan, Penn St etc at Fenway....I'd be all in on that.

A reach admittedly ....but both have played FCS opponents in the past...Villanova is playing Penn St in Happy Valley in a couple years. Just saying that that is the only type of opponent that makes sense for HC (aside from maybe BC) to play at Fenway.

Unless you're dropping thousands of dollars on top of your BC season tickets, you won't be tailgating anywhere near that campus

Really need phreek to fix the title of this thread. “Webimar” is starting to get to me. Me too. Done and you're welcome. Also find it humorous that the error is repeated in the body of the original post and one reply by phreak. Had me thinking that maybe it was deliberate - or somehow the word Webimar is in his personal spell checker dictionary.

I wouldn't give that school a red dime .....howevah, a fellow classmate's family still lives within walking distance of BC....took the T in and went to his house for a tremendous pre-game party with many formah gridders in attendance in Sept 2018...crossing my fingers it will happen again this year.

Fenway Park, configured for Notre Dame home game against BC For player safety purposes, can we put a warning track at the edge of the end zones?

UMASS, Army, UConn, Fordham and Colgate could all be potential HC November opponents for a Fenway game with the two PL teams being much more likely. I only list the 3 FBS teams because they’re independents and from a scheduling perspective, such a matchup could be plausible. Would any of these 3 forego a home game and play an FCS at a neutral site? That’s the question. Maybe UNH or Maine if CAA could work in non-conference scheduling that late in the season. I wouldn't trust Fordham to bring any fans. The others are all solid choices. Army might do it unless they're scheduled to be at BC in the 20s. Seems like it’s been a while since either of the academies have played BC. They played a lot it seemed in the 90’s

BC/Army- last two games were 2012 and 2013. Several games in the 2000-09 range. Surprised that series is not still going. BC folks loved that game, more often than not a win and a nice trip when it was a road game.
BC/Navy- last regular season game was 2001, plus a bowl game in 2006.

The Army model seems to be to schedule several games they can win and play home and homes (see long term deals with UMass and UConn) and then sprinkle in some big names as well as some geographical diversity among lesser names. BC is usually a loss for Army and doesn’t offer any geographical diversity to their schedule. You’d think their fans would rather see a long term deal with BC than UMass or UConn but those schools have more flexibility with dates and are likely wins for Army.

AFAIK, the three recent games at Fenway are Dartmouth-Brown; BC-Notre Dame; Harvard-Yale. We should play Notre Dame there.

Pretty sure ND has nevah played an FCS school....but agree, it would be tremendous. Other football historians bettah than I may elaborate, but I think ND avoided playing other Catholic schools (ourselves included) until about the 1970s when they played BC at Foxboro.

Agreed, for as long as ND is getting paid by NBC at least.
