You get a ring for winning the conference tournament?

You get a ring for winning the conference tournament? What? The Champions of every league get rings, and that's what HC was: Patriot League CHAMPIONS.

I personally don't think that you should get a ring for winning a league. It seems a bit excessive. You ought to get a ring for winning a national championship.

No, but I just think that it can be a big expenditure. The reward for winning the conference in hoops is qualifying for the tournament. I am sure that the players will remember that long after the ring is banished to the back of the sock drawer.

I know as a fact that most leagues give their champions either a watch or ring. I worked with a representative from a ring company and he would tell me how he would travel to the different schools who would order for their players who had won a championship.

I am sure that the players will remember that long after the ring is banished to the back of the sock drawer. Boy are you out of touch... No doubt. I am also amazed that you cannot recruit a basketball player without showing him a shiny new facility. I guess this shows I'm a grumpy old fool. I am not out of touch in thinking that the players will likely not be wearing these rings five years from now. They will be buried in their dresser or sold to pay for car repairs or perhaps an engagement ring. I bought a high school ring almost forty years ago. I lost it within a few months. I did not buy a class ring at HC. I used the money to go on spring break instead. I had a better time at "The Button" than I would have had wearing the ring around. My wife is head of the sports booster group at our kids' high school. They traditionally gave $25 per player toward jackets. The coach of the most recent champion team wanted money toward rings. I am glad to say that the booster group told them to buy their own.

Have my HC ring is my jewelry box. Is the ring company, Balfour, still outside Providence. Because of all the jewelry companies that used to surround Providence, the Industrial Natl Bank in Prov used to have the largest gold bullion stash in the US (outside of Fort Knox).

Is the ring company, Balfour, still outside Providence. Public Service Announcement ... Current HC rings ar emanufactured by Jostens. Found out when ordering HC16's ring, they will resize your ring under their lifetime warranty! So if you, like me, outgrew your ring since graduating, you can contact the Jostens or the bookstore for details on how to get it resized. If older rings are Balfour, my guess is that they may do the same.

Class of 1970 ring company is Herff Jones in Providence, RI. Chipped the unique flamestone ring multiple times and wife got it replaced for me a number of years ago and paid a pretty penny. Found out at a reunion when company rep was there that there was a lifetime warranty even for chipping the stone and was told I shouldn't have paid for the fix (I also had it re-sized) but I couldn't get my money back. I wear it Holy Cross events.

Class of 1970 ring company is Herff Jones in Providence, RI. Hmmm. Herff Jones. That may be the company, not Jostens. My aging mind is impacting my recollection. Regardless, manufacturer of rings indcated they'd re-size for lifetime.

Would have given my eye teeth for a PL championship ring back in the day. In any sport. Just my 2 cents.
