When will McKillop (71) retire ? It is a long way from NJ.

I believe Davidson has one unusual feature: the school provides free laundry service for all the students so that they can concentrate on academics
I'm not suggesting that would be a deciding factor on where to attend college--just a fun fact to know and tell

Davidson is also proof a small school can excel in both academics and athletics. They do it very nicely thank you. What a concept.

Has Sean Logan done an official visit to HC? He has been on the campus for sure...

Has Sean Logan done an official visit to HC? He has been on the campus for sure... Speaking of visits, what is the difference between an official and unofficial visit. I assume it’s who pays for the stay. Are you allowed to interact with coaching staff and players on an unofficial visit.

With each passing day (and offer), he is turning more and more into someone who would be a great "get" for the program.

I'd be pretty happy to land Tommy Haugh, a much more realistic possibility.

HC is twice as far from Boston as Davidson is from Charlotte. They were in the Patriot League when it was only football; and only for 2-3 years. Were so bad entering the league that they and HC agreed to defer playing each other for a while, before there were supposed to be games they changed their mind and went D3 in football until that practice was no longer allowed. Got in the Pioneer League and have done ok at that level.

In 1997, I had several trips to Charlotte regarding a business center that was being constructed. One day, after work, I drove up to Lake Norman and Davidson. It’s an easy 21 mile drive, that takes less than 30 minutes on I 77.
I was able to stroll the campus at my leisure, with access to many of the buildings including the Belk Arena and the Richardson Stadium. Nice campus, the only negative, like the rest of North Carolina, it is miserably hot and humid in August. Mosquitoes and Nats everywhere.
Air travel to Charlotte was fairly easy at the time. It was a hub for US Air, and is currently a hub for American Airlines, so access from several New England airports is not an issue for travel. Would be a fun trip if basketball scheduled back to back games against Davidson and or UNC Charlotte or Winthrop University, which is in Rock Hill SC. Winthrop Univ is 35 minutes south of Charlotte, using I 77.

Davidson football has been a lot better in the last few years but for many years it was one of the absolute worst teams in D-1, only able to post wins against non D-1 opponents. 2012 thru 2017 OOC= 6-13 Conference= 3-45 2018 thru 2020 OOC=6-3Conference= 12-9

A timeline for Nobili and Haugh, as we watch things play out . . . June. Holy Cross offers Nobili. He makes unofficial visits to HC, BU, and Lafayette.
July. Holy Cross offers Haugh, who makes an official visit to HC (and the Q). American offers Nobili.
Week of August 2nd. Haugh makes OVs at BU and Lafayette (which may or may not have offered him). Possible future visits to Siena, Albany, and Lehigh. Will make decision shortly after school resumes at Perkiomen ( ~ August 30th).
Week of August 9th. Nobili schedules OVs in September to BU and American.

I still remember Mary from Beaven 1. I imagine that is no longer a feature.

I share a similar memory. Our only responsibility was to take out dirty sheets and towels to the laundry at Kimball once week and to bring back clean ones to our room. We deposited them on the bed and the towel rack in our closet and the rest was taken care of for us...ah the good times.

Wow-- cushy life for you guys. We still had the maids but they primarily just emptied waste baskets and vacuumed the hallways

My freshmen year (71/72) we had laundry service, but no bedmaking that I recall or room cleaning.
