Personally, I always try to vote for the person and not the party...but that makes me a bit of a relic.

Will the Cousy statue be the next one to come down after word gets around that he's been watching Fox News? Dunno.

This is why we can’t have anything nice. I know, it's almost like if Brett Nelson was seen wearing a t-shirt while on a fishing trip that may hint at his political leanings, there would be an uproar. Something like that definitely would never happen.

Not going to get any better with the election this fall. Probably won’t ever get better under the existing system. Extremism seems to be the recipe for getting elected these days, at least at the national level. There are only a handful of Kyrsten Sinemas and Tim Scotts out there who seem more concerned with solving problems than finding ways to sow the seeds of division and extremism. Not sure if a third party is a realistic option but something needs to change to give the 80% of the country between the 10% at either end a voice. Seems as if it’s more like the 20% in the middle between the 40% at each end. Everyone still has a voice though.

Two improvements would help a lot with our polarization: 1.) Rank choice voting, where you list candidates you want in order of preference. If your first choice does not garner over 50% of the vote, your votes go to second on the list, etc. This was recently adopted in Maine, for example. www.fairvote.org/rcv#where_is_ranked_choice_voting_used2.) One person one vote for President / VP. This is the only vote we all share as US citizens, and our current electoral college system polarizes this vote by heavily weighting the votes of voters rural, low population states, and then by giving all of the states electoral college votes to whoever wins the state wide vote. It can also lead to the anomaly of electing a person who does not get the most votes. Republicans in California and Democrats in Mississippi effectively have their votes for President ignored in most elections. www.scpr.org/news/2020/03/18/91218/electoral-college-not-carved-in-stone-author-advoc/

Now the task at hand is for the men's hoops team to match their academic accomplishments with their athletic performance.

I couldn't do that if I added the two semesters. I was on academic probation first semester of sophomore year. The dean's office let me know that after I was already off probation.

I wonder if there’s a way to find out whether the average GPA acros the whole school was higher this semester. It’s certainly possible the grades were inflated with the remote learning. Still happy for the team. Just wondering if GPAs across HC are benefitting from the situation.

As our board administrator here once said to Mr. Kroger. "That's a 1.2 GPA. Congratulations, that's the top of the Delta pledge class."

Still happy for the team. Just wondering if GPAs across HC are benefitting from the situation. My guess is yes. Lots of things were allowed to slide. We have a summer intern at work and he was just telling me about a class project where the class policy was they'd just assume it worked properly

Just based on my one teaching course at our Community College, the grades did not change from before and after the class went online, unfortunately.
