So that means Merrimack game is being moved to September 4th since it was scheduled on September 3rd? 🤷🏻♂️

No overnights with only rare exceptions.... We are at Gtown, Colgate and Laffy! Imagine getting on a bus early morning, going to Gtown, playing a game, then coming back all in one day!

As I see it, these impositions only enhance the chances that players will get injured. Cutting back preseason preparation, forcing teams to incur unreasonable travel restrictions and minimizing the ability of teams to get players on campus, tested and appropriately quarantined as a group are all pretty much negated by these rules. Hopefully our AD can talk some sense into the administration, which seems to be pretty clueless.
Students in their teens and early twenties (especially healthy D1 athletes) are the least likely to experience significant effects from COVID-19, yet they are being treated like they are elderly in nursing homes.

I hope they take a comprehensive look at the BC game instead of cancelling it out of hand. BC is breaking in a new coach and system, HC is hitting it's stride in Chesney's third season. We can't match their talent and size but we might be able to spot them a few days of practice and still be equally as prepared.

It raises the question of neutral fields equidistant from the two campuses. A potential boon for our NYC area fans, or of little competitive consequence if there will be no fans this season.

Thought of that (neutral field) when I posted, but didn't because I assumed that those owning them more than likely would not want/allow it....

Maybe the USMA as a site for games against Colgate and Lafayette since they are a member school. West Point would mitigate some of the travel distance.

The wrong approach is being taken.
If the goal is to not have a college student or member of a sports team to test positive for this virus, then the entire operation should be shut down. Cancel school and all seasons because there is going to be a student / student-athlete who tests positive for it. The good thing is that college-aged students will recover in a week or two.
Instead, proper measures should be taken to ensure that elderly members and those with pre-existing medical conditions of a college community and sports team are protected. Let's keep the interests of the overwhelming majority rather than the stark minority driving the measures being taken here. This might mean an older coach who is at risk is coaching from the press box, conducting positional meetings over video conference, etc. It could mean that an elderly professor does not come on campus for the semester, and teaches remotely. To try and shut down a college campus and destroy the college experience for millions of young people in order to protect such a small number is something I just do not understand.
We should not be of the mindset that the world is ending when positive tests occur, so long as a certain demographic of people are not the ones testing positive.

/\ Agreed. One can expect that right now (and next fall) college-age kids are getting and will get the Corona virus and recover with no ill effects.
One imagines rational folks can distinguish the difference between 100 elderly folks at a nursing home with preexisting conditions getting the virus and 100 HC students getting the virus. As a matter of fact it would not shock me to hear that 100 HC students (or more) have the virus right now.

In theory they could fly charter out of Worcester at 7am and be at Georgetown for a 1pm kickoff. After game is over, charter back to Worcester. There has to be some donor willing to help out!

There are two key phrases that are being ignored:
"...principles, which will guide..."
These are guidelines not rules.
"...with rare exceptions, regular-season competition will exclude overnight travel."
HC to Georgetown could well be an acceptable exception. The Patriot League Mafiosi won't show up if HC stays at the Courtyard the night before the Georgetown game.

“This is the million-dollar question,” she said. “If we can all be sitting around our Thanksgiving dinner toasting our Patriot League champions, everyone wins.”

As far as I know, the pL has no power to say when HC football players are allowed to report for training camp and/or when HC can play OOC football games -- those are NCAA rules. It would be nice to have a President with a spine who was capable of stepping up and not just rolling with the pL nonsense.
