One cannot argue that Coach McCarthy’s record is a solid body of work, that certainly would have merited strong consideration by ADMB. Again, being an Anchorage native, with a very young family, maybe he did want to relocate to the lower 48 and move 4,515 miles away from home in the middle of a global pandemic. Certainly extremely difficult to make a key coaching hire, when neither party can have a face to face interview, as well as the prospective coaching candidate cannot officially visit the campus. We should all keep an eye on Coach McCathy’s career.I don't think too many here are going to pay attention to the career path of D2 WBB coach from AK Crucis. It doesn't take many to pay attention. Now that his name has been mentioned, it only takes one paying attention to keep his career in the overall Crossports consciousness!

BFoley seems to believe he is a rising star. McCathy’s record and success in recruiting seems to reflect that trend.
I, for one, will be interested in his career path, as I follow PAC 12 and West Coast Conference Basketball. Several of the seasoned coaches in Women’s Basketball in those conference may be retiring in the next several years, McCarthy would certainly seem to be a candidate.
It is there choice if others on this board choose to follow his career or not.

You don’t see many D-2 coaches under 40 with their own coaching DVD set on their defensive schemes www.championshipproductions.com/cgi-bin/champ/p/Basketball/Ryan-McCarthy-Mayhem-Defense-2-Pack_BD-05248.html

The segment that can be watched for free shows good coaching from what little I have to compare it to. His stunning w-l record is a good hook to sell these DVDs and perhaps it wouldn't be that stunning in D-1. Good for him and it shows if you know how to coach you can be up near the Artic Circle and still succeed.

Unfortunately I'm not a subscriber to the Bemidji Pioneer so I can't read the article. Well you're very provincial.

Given their location, as robust an intramural program as possible during a pandemic would be more realistic until after the pandemic and ensuing recession is over.
