The issue I just received has some old photos I have never seen. the best was of the ‘54 team with captains Togo and Ron Perry sr., with Tom Heinsohn in the rear Another was of the Cooz with Frank Oftring. A third was George Blaney, I think they were both with a terrific article about the fieldhouse with many reminisces. The article on Billy Collins was well done also.

You can go to this link below and page thru. I did not know Henry Hogan ' 54 and Mark Mowatt '71 had passed away. I used to caddy for the Hogans during the late 60's and my father recruited Mark Mowatt from University of Detroit High School to play QB at HC. RIP to both of them. magazine.holycross.edu/

RIP for Mark Mowatt, a fellow U of D High and HC alum. As ge mentions, recruited to HC by his father and new coach Tom Boisture. Mark was a standout on the freshman team in 1967—ran the bootleg at the goal line in much the same way as Jack Lentz (21 players on the field heading one way with the QB heading the other).
In his sophomore year (1968) vied for playing time with Phil O’Neil, a sr. from Worcester. Started the opener vs. Harvard as a jr. in 1969 (the hepatitis yr.). Don’t remember if he started in the second game against Dartmouth before the season ended. Can’t recall his record as a sr. in 1970.

Thanks. KY Crusader 75. Who else played QB in the post-hepatitis 1970 season? Was interested to see that Mark ran back 3 kickoffs in his sr. yr.—certainly unusual for a QB.

...and then Doherty made him a defensive end.
Colin Clapton played QB as well. Also played the position a bit in 71 and 72. I think he played other positions as well, moving folks around was certainly part of Doherty's m/o.
