In case you were wondering what they were going to do with the money you've already sent in for the 2020 football season (HCFC45 excepted ): Nice that they've had my money for months, had an additional "processing charge" when I gave them my money and now they want to take another deduction to give me my own money back. Sweet.

Seems really stupid and short-sighted. Much like their decision to squeeze our 10-20 single ticket season ticket holders by making them buy a second ticket or lose their baseball field parking.

A perfect way to turn away their season ticket holders. How cheap can they be?

Many FBS schools who have cancelled their season also asked their season ticket holders to pass on a refund and convert their $ to a charitable contribution -

Another option would have been to credit the dollars for the 2021 season tickets.
The athletic fund was trending down this year vs budget, but not sure by how much? Any sense on the final numbers for CAF and Annual Fund?

Don’t know about the CAF, but got an email with general results for the HC Fund a few week ago.
As I recall, fund totaled over $10.25 million (8th year in a row exceeding fund raising target) from more than 14,000 donors,

Thirteen full time staff persons are listed in the coaching link on the football webpage. That's a heavy lift. It would have been simple just to roll over everyone's payment to 2021 but then there would be no new large influx of payments for 2021 season ticket sales.
Football is a large chunk of the athletic budget and probably the least socially distant sport since we don't offer wrestling, yet it is our only current championship sport.
I hope this is just a one season interruption and the full 2021 season proceeds as scheduled.

I agree 100%. HC on this one with such small payments seems to be following the policy of "shoot yourself in the foot."

Not really much of an issue with me, I was planning on making another donation to CAF this year, so instead of all in December, I make a partial donation in August, and additional donation later.
I knew this when I placed my ticket deposit, because I have no intention of sitting in any sort of venue this year, or maybe next.

Not to prolong this but I had a phone conversation with Renee in the ticket office (she has since left), and she immediately asked me if I would like to donate the season tickets (& parking) should the season be canceled. I told her in no uncertain terms that being in the PC and a charter and continuous member of the Gridiron Club/CAF that "I give enough money to Holy Cross. Send me a refund." I followed up with an email to Renee after nothing was done. Got a call from Nick Smith saying that they were still "looking at the situation and have had discussions" and he'd get back to me. He explained, his call was because Renee was gone. I'm not sure but I may have pre-emptively told him I was not interested in making a further donation to the College. I've done my share, IMHO. Then I got the template email in this thread's initial post. Bonus comment: The athletic department are obviously not politicians.

Let’s say the processing fee is 10 bucks do they really need that 15,000 dollars?

I throw nickels around like they are manhole covers myself, so I agree everyone has a right to their money back. But just the fact that Renee is gone shows how HC is hemorrhaging money this year and executives like Nick Smith must be wondering just how essential their own duties are while there are no athletics at HC, so I don't mind them brainstorming on how to retain as much of the season ticket money as possible either as a rollover to next year or an outright donation.
But as was noted they don't have a politicians touch where they can slap your back with one hand and lift your wallet with the other.

Got my check for 2020 football season tickets refund in the mail today . . . . . less $11.00 processing fee. They need to realize the exact same people they’re nickel and diming with this are the same people they need to fund the CAF. The $11 fee is definitely not a money maker in the long run. Same with the forced purchase of a second season ticket for the 10-20 long time season ticket holders who usually buy one and get baseball field parking. Of course, this may not be Blossom’s fault if he’s being held to account first and foremost for a 2020 budget. If that’s the case, I could understand him taking the short term view with his customers even if he knows it’s stupid. Just won’t play out well over the long term.

I can definitely see offering people the opportunity to donate the money if they wish (it would be malpractice not to do so) but it should have been done in a completely no pressure manner. The processing fee is just plain insanity.

Interestingly, the check looked like one of those you would get from a company rebate or refund. You know, bend the ends, pull off the tabs on the sides and top and pull apart the paper. Not what I would have expected and giving it further thought, I am thinking that the College outsourced the process to a third party and the $11.00 what it cost Holy Cross to pay to get it done.
Again, since they had my money for months collecting interest, I think they should have eaten the cost.
And, since I already made my donations to the HC Fund; CAF and Gridiron Club multiple times higher than the cost of the season tickets, I just wasn’t willing to back into another donation.
I didn’t want to give them the idea that I was related to the Luth or Park Smith.🤩

How much interest do you think was earned during the period while the school held your $$?

Not very much. The principle of the thing, not the "principal" of the thing.

The athletic office is going down hill, someone need to step up with improvements. If it's the idea of the AD he needs to review his position.
