No place else to put this but, yes, curious where people stand on this.
Try to just answer the poll with no editorial comments. Don't want the Dean to shut it down.

Social distancing should be a separate category

Other - limit discretionary contact with others and keep groups to 10 or fewer (typically 4-6).

I am starting to think of 4-6 as a "crowd." PLUS, my email was hacked and I have not gotten any email since 8/19.

Very surprised that the first option has not been selected (yet) considering many of the comments on Crossports.

Another question to ask...” Do you have a Holy Cross Face Mask”?
The HC branded and logo Face Mask provide double secret protection. 😷

I have Optimum (for several years). The service is Optimum.net. They seem baffled by this. It has been boosted up to their "high command" and Im was told I may need to change my account - wip[ing out the one one. (I have also been left hanging on several occasions by techs who could not solve this and just dropped my call. Three told me if our call was cut off they would call right back...right.)

Surprised Optimum hasn't yet told you "there's an outage in your area" their standard answer to any problem.

Been there...but there is no outage in our area for the last few days. Also, my wife gets online with no problem, so it is my email/internet and not the service or modem. Before my list of contacts disappeared, someone took it and sent an email to everyone on it saying I needed money for a sick relative. Of course, that is a scam. I would NEVER ask for money through email and - fortunately - there is no sick relative or any need to get cash to help out. I assume they deleted my contacts to keep me from letting folks know about the scam. One friend almost sent several hundred dollars - but his lawyer part took over and he phoned me first!

Did you back up your email address book to an offline hard drive for reference? If so you will be able to restore once resolved.
Have you also tried accessing your email from another device, such as an iPhone, iPad or another lap top or desktop if available?
They should be able to restore your account from their sever.
12 years ago I had a problem that neither EarthLink or ATT would spend the required time to resolve, so I dropped both. They had me going through a series of steps that would drop the voice circuit that I was using to call through the modem that I was using. I have my suspicions regarding EarthLink call center and their willingness to resolve my issue, so I told them ..... bye, bye!
I use Gmail which is not linked to my ISP, so that I am not dependent on an ISP lack of performance, and access my account on multiple devices as needed.
Keep us updated regarding your resolution.

I picked Choice #3 but social distancing is irrelevant in my mind when one goes indoors- I wear a mask and keep it on, no questions asked.

The other choices, except 1, received fewer votes.

I know someone who orders all his groceries online from Whole Foods and gets them delivered. However, he likes some treats (Ritter chocolate bars is one I can think of) that are sold at Trader Joes but not at WF and Trader Joes doesn't deliver. So he waits for violent storms when there won't be many people in Trader Joes and then when everyone else is hunkering down he makes a dash to get his treats.

I am starting to think of 4-6 as a "crowd." PLUS, my email was hacked and I have not gotten any email since 8/19. I keep getting alerts that my email and password is for sale on the dark web and to change the password. So I keep changing it. I don't know if it is just the original password that is for sale because I don't know how to log onto the dark web and check it. I'm using that email address less but I've had it for 22 years so I really can't just cancel it because who knows how many people have it in their contacts for me so I still check it for messages and haven't noticed any abnormalities.

You are getting phished. If you are using a Windows based operating system, get your PC checked out because your hard drive may have virus or other malware. There could be a file in your calendar that has been set to periodically create a message to be displayed.
During my career, I have been involved in ensuring that cyber security was being enforced, and that the company’s practices for information protection were being followed. On a periodic bases, the Cyber Security team would send an email to see if you would provide some private information about your account, that could be used by hackers to penetrate their internal systems and networks that an employee was attached. If you took the bait, by being phished, you would get a message telling you that you were out of compliance, and your boss would be notified. It was a list you did not want to be on as we were dealing with very sensitive and private data.
More often, these attempts are being launched on users with Windows based operating systems, that are more vulnerable to attach due to the constant updates being issued by Microsoft. At home, I get calls from some off shore call center, from a fictional windows security team, trying to allow them to access my hard drive. I play along, with no intention of even powering on one of my devices. It can be comical at times. Some times, I pretend I am following their instructions, then they ask me what I am seeing, then I tell them them I am operating in an IOS environment. Another time, I got insulted by the caller when I purposely sounded confused by his requested and he called me a ****** idiot. I thanked him and replied that was about the hundred time that week that someone told that to me. 😊 The last time I had the fellow totally confused, and when I mentioned my experience in Cyber Security / Information Protection, he asked if he could send me his resume. That was too funny. The average home computer user should hang up immediately, as they can be tricked into following commands that would surrender their computer to a malevolent source. One should never click on a link in an email, unless it is from a trusted source. If it looks suspicious, it is.

Macbook is supposedly safer than a PC but I have clearly been hacked. I am patiently waiting for my call-back from Optimum...now 5 days.

Hackers spend more time trying to break into Windows OS because there are many more users than any other OS. When 'vulnerabilities' in the code are found hackers attempt to use them. Good guys also find the bugs. When Microsoft becomes aware they work on the fix and release patches to Windows, the first Monday of the month. Some companies apply the patches every month, some never do. It’s a risky gamble

My alerts or messages come from Norton and Capital One's Credit Wise, which is the free credit reporting service for Capital One customers. I get phished and robo-called occasionally, too. I have also played dumb with boiler room callers from Nigeria until their head explodes.😊
