Colleges that wanted to have done an overall great job as have the students. There are always going to be ding-dongs.

With the complete lack of cases serious enough to warrant hospitalization it is difficult to judge one college against another in terms of ‘safety’. I guess HC would have had similarly successful outcomes (BC, PC, VU, Fordham) if we had opened.

I'm just going off the numbers above and what I've seen of the Worcester colleges. Schools, after some initial issues, are doing a great job IMO. Numbers show that this age group rarely is hospitalized.

From the release:
Last week, BC had a total of 13 positive cases out of 7,040 tests for a weekly positivity rate of 0.18 percent, well below the state average of 1.1 percent. Since testing began in August, BC has conducted 45,651 tests, including 30,906 tests of undergraduates, for a total positivity rate of 0.40 percent.

If one counts the 21 from the off-campus party, and estimating that there are 800 HC students in Worcester, then the number of HC student cases is 4.75% of the HC student population in Worcester. There are four HC staff/faculty cases.

As I recall we thought our kids would get seriously ill from Covid unless we instituted a rather complex plan that proved beyond our capabilities. Things went south from there. Chess not checkers!

I note for the record that we have not had to postpone any field hockey games. And we are undefeated in football. #perfectseason
