Probably in the minority here but even without COVID, I think it is a good idea to rotate the games between West Point and Annapolis.

Just the corps from both academies would take up a third of the stadium. You'd have to have some pretty solid DOD connections just to get a ticket as an outsider.

Game belongs at the midway point in Phila every year.

I fully understand that. I have never personally been to see an Army-Navy game and always watch on TV as do the vast, VAST majority of fans. These games, all collegiate games, should be primarily for the students and this one, of course, for veterans of both services. But most of them aren’t attending in person either.
How often have we discussed a packed smaller Hart Center generates more enthusiasm than a larger venue? I am sure the cadets and midshipmen would prefer to be at home or the rival’s home. Watching from home is the same whether they play in Philly or a home stadium.
Again, just my opinion.

Plenty of enthusiasm from the cadets, midshipmen, and fans in Phila or when game has been in Balt. To compare this game to any game at the Hart is foolish.

Comparing a football game to anything at the Hart is foolish indeed. Was there a comparison involving an actual game? Citing the atmosphere of a packed Hart is a far different matter.

The West Point campus will be the perfect bubble.

Certainly for the Corps. What about all the Middies ? Will other fans be allowed ?

Isn't the train ride to Philadelphia a big part of the game experience for the cadets and midshipmen?

It is. Some fail to see this.

Unlikely fans will be allowed in Michie Stadium beyond the Corp and the Brigade.

Will this be the PL Championship game this year?

Since neither of them field a PL football team, that is unlikely.

Or Baltimore or East Rutherford when played there.

No way that game is played in a smaller stadium in a normal year. Is the reason it's at West Point because it's more of a bubble situation; certainly the percentages are with a warmer day at Annapolis.

Never doubted that or ever said that. Said I would have guessed a preference for home games (and concede that's just based on gut and nothing factual). That said, just to be difficult, I'll bet 100% do not attend. 100% of anything is usually doubtful. Some in corps/brigade might be ill or being disciplined or any number of reasons why a few don't go.
Well, there's always a first and I guess this was my first foolish statement here, except it was more an analogy not a direct comparison. RGS seemed to understand my point but obviously some (at least one?) did not. And, never said or implied it was a factual statement. It was an opinion. That's what we do here most of the time. So, I'll just write off that 100% of Crossporters did not agree with my comment.

I've been to several Army-Navy games in Philadelphia over the years thanks to my son-in-law who is a West point grad. Television can only give a small taste of the tradition, pageantry, and, yes, patriotism that surround this game every year. I don't tend to be a flag waver, but it's quite an experience, I can tell you. If you ever have a chance to go, don't pass it up!

Michie is located on federal property and not subject to the New York State regulations on large gatherings.
