There are others in the portal as well based on Twitter. Degenhardt, Bowler, Lang all have indicated they are in the portal.
Makes sense to me. Future uncertain with a year of eligibility. They could still play Spring - if there is one - and still transfer.

Wouldn’t they want to be at their new school’s spring practice ?

That might happen. Was just stating the point they could actually get both. If they wanted to play one last time with their class in the Spring they could do that and then be a graduate transfer in the Fall of 2021.
I guess it will all depend on the interest any of them get from other schools. In my mind I would think they would only move for an option to possibly play FBS, but who knows - each kid is different.
I could see Whitley and Ayeni possibly also testing the waters.

Foley is looking graduate transfer (I'm assuming so are the others). So he'll be here next semester. (...this is not to suggest he is or is not playing at HC in the Spring).

So, the way the rules have been amended, it would be possible for all or any of those guys to play in the spring then somewhere else in the fall?
Only way I see them doing that is if there's "live" school in the second semester and they have academic obligations. Even then, they might not.

Brian Foley update:
According to his Twitter page, since entering the transfer portal, Foley has picked up offers from UMass, East Carolina, Texas State, Toledo, Kent State, and Duke.

Someone told me he has in fact made the decision to go to Duke.

As long as he plays this spring for HC, I wish him all the best at Duke.

Duke MBA at half price is a good deal.

Assuming that the PL plays some sort of an official football schedule this spring, it is a bit awkward for a schollie college football student to commit to one school prior to starting and completing a schollie season for another. (Another Covid effect.) I could see where the gaining institution would have some concerns.
I'm sure this is happening elsewhere as some CAA kids, for example, may currently be exploring the graduate-transfer route. FWIW, several CAA graduate transfers went FBS as soon as the plug was pulled on their season (AUG) and played almost immediately.

I hope Texas lets him play for HC in any spring games.

Perhaps "the Forty Acres" have found their mule. Good luck to Mr. Foley. He's following the rules. Perhaps he will have an opportunity in the NFL like Jimmy Murray.

Another complication could be the outside chance the player either gets drafted or receives an invitation to sign a contract as an undrafted free agent. I've heard the phrase "Joe Blow has declared for the draft," but how much declaring does a graduating member of the class of 2021 have to do to be considered available to be drafted or invited to camp by an NFL team?

I hope Texas lets him play for HC in any spring games. Well, if he's on a HC football schollie and we play football...

I hope Texas lets him play for HC in any spring games. Well, if he's on a HC football schollie and we play football... Exactly. Why would the NCAA let Texas nullify the $70,000 or so HC paid for this year's scholarship when Texas will only be paying for next season's scholarship? If the player decides to skip the Spring season and wait till the fall I assume HC is out of luck, however.

i saw one from Vanderbilt, but not ND. The coach he referred to in the post took the Head job at Vanderbilt recently and the picture of the field is Vanderbilt's field.

Regardless, I’m impressed with the Power 5 offers that he has received - can’t imagine those schools would make the investment and let him play 5 games for HC in the spring, risking injury.

I'm not really sure the risk is on the school. I think it's more on Foley. God forbid, but if he plays and something happens to him I'm not sure the school has to honor the offer.
I'm actually not sure how the transfer game works related to 5th year grad transfers on when the offer becomes binding from the school's perspective and they have to give the player the money regardless.
