Stevens is a coach who would appreciate Malcolm’s skills, as would Steve Kerr, Mark D., Gregg P. and probably others Perhaps he could take Hayward’s spot. The Bucks have a need for more than a few low cost reserves.

From Malcolm on the IG tonight:
mlmili13 I said it before and I say it again. Thank you Toronto. Love y’all from the bottom of my heart. Been a great 3 years full of ups and downs. From injuries to Championships. But I loved the process. Y’all embraced me and I appreciate y’all 🇨🇦❤️

Maybe he’ll go to the Knicks. They sure could use him and then a small part of me would care about the NBA. It’s been a while.

I wonder if it is a full time NBA contract? He was on a two way deal with Toronto......

Last season Malcolm was on a full contract.

This is being reported as an "Exhibit 10" contract. Looks like that basically amounts to an invite to training camp, with an agreement at the league minimum salary if he makes the NBA roster and sticks for 60 days. He can be sent to the G League, in which case he is eligible for certain bonuses. Or it can become a two-way contract.
Basically, looks like more of an invite to camp, without much guaranteed beyond camp.

He can't get sent to the G league because there's no G league for 2020-21.

Some teams are sponsoring G League teams, some are not. The Select team of some of the best of last year’s Hs seniors who turned down college will play those G league teams.

Jazz announced their 16 man squad today and not surprisingly Malcom is not there - he's only been around their camp for a week (or less) - will be interesting where they place him next

An explanation of the signing and subsequent waiving of Malcolm:
On Friday afternoon, the Utah Jazz announced that they had signed guard Yogi Ferrell and forward Malcolm Miller, two players with a decent level of NBA experience.
Just over 24 hours later on Saturday, the Jazz announced they have waived the duo.
What’s going on?
Under league rules, teams are allowed to sign six “affiliate players” during training camp whose NBA G League rights they will then hold even if they waive them. For Ferrell and Miller, it means they will almost surely end up with the Salt Lake City Stars.
At the same time the Jazz announced Friday that they had signed that duo, they also announced they had waived four players who had been in camp, former BYU guard Jake Toolson, guard Trevon Bluiett (who has previously played with the Stars), center Romaro Gill and forward Tre Scott.
Barring anything unexpected, these six are the Jazz’s affiliate players who will start the season with the Stars.

After today’s blockbuster trade there are three open roster spots on the Nets roster - wonder if his agent is inquiring

That would be great for him if the team chemistry of the Nets has them in contention (and can overcome the huge egos that could become a real issue this year).

Somebody competent has to be able to step in on the nights where Kyrie's "personal reasons" cause him to take a night off.

The Nets will have 3 solid players in terms of potential that they can build around. However, Kyrie's "no-show" nights can screw that up. Harden is a man who said about his own team that they were not "good enough" for him. It was why he was eventually traded. That is not necessarily the type of attitude you want from someone you are building around. That was why I mentioned "egos" earlier. Malcolm's great attitude might make him one player who could help create a positive situation by doing whatever the team required. Of course this will all drop onto Coach Nash. If he can get these players to work together, it may get him coach of the year...hands down.
