Oh, I'll get a crapload of incoming on this; but the truth hurts.
We are last in the league when it comes to substance in what we have to talk about in regards to our school's athletics; LAST

Elaborate, please. You may be absolutely right but not sure what, if any, metrics you are basing this on.

OK, I'll bite. There are no games being played right now except hockey as far as I know. So that basically eliminates discussion about "this season" in virtually all sports. What does that leave us and, not just us, all Patriot League teams and many other leagues, but to discuss recruits and past glories. This board has done that. I don't regularly visit other school boards other than very rarely another PL board or an Ivy board. While I haven't looked, I'd guess they aren't doing much other than what we've done. Probably less based on past history as we have the reputation of attracting other PL fans here more than other boards.
I did find it "uninteresting" to predict winners of ACC football games but to each his own. With some exceptions due to postponements/cancellations due to covid, at least they are playing and that apparently scratches the itch for some here.
As for your opening comment: "We are last in the league when it comes to substance in what we have to talk about in regards to our school's athletics; LAST" I don't see any basis for that. Certainly not in the Patriot League.

The bigger "league" of all D1 programs. Be my guest, enjoy the banner HC headline of a new volleyball recruit. Perseverate at who will win the Georgia Tech - Wake game.

We are last in the league when it comes to substance in what we have to talk about in regards to our school's athletics; LAST I'm totally missing the point of this post. Compared to other PL boards my casual glances suggest that our board is far more active. As for other D1 schools I have neither the time nor the interest. It seems to me we talk about a lot of different things, some of which interest me, some of which don't. As for reading about golf or field hockey recruits I have interest because I like to see if I can get a glimpse of what kind of human beings we're getting to HC. I guess I don't see what the problem is.

Just glancing at the Colgate board, it looks like they've had 7-8 posts on football since June.....and not one on basketball in that same time frame.
The Fordham board gets quite a bit of action, but you could make the same argument that many of the posts are about the Vince Lombardi/Ken Charles/Charlie Yelverton days.....

My minor appreciation of the original post in this thread: pretty much any topic on this board has a post that evolves/devolves into "Back when I saw Jimmy Quickfingers mix it up with Bobby The Flash at the old Garden and the game was put on in black and white in person back in the 60s..." That could be an asset... we have a lot of history... but it's like every Yankee topic of today quickly shifting to how great Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig were... and we never had the success of the 90s/2000s teams.

My only complaint would be when the teams are GOOD (the RW years, Dom's senior year), it still digresses into "well, they're not as good as the teams we used to have, why didn't we do this or that...."
Complaining about losing and general incompetence is par for the course on one of these boards. We actually take it less personally than some places.
