Got my Crusader Nation Magazine in the mail yesterday and Nate Pine stated in the AD's Corner: This is the first time that I have seen this name.
So what does this mean? Is the official name of the new, renovated complex "The Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex? Or it the Hart Center a part of the Luth Athletic Complex? If so what part?

Is the official name of the new, renovated complex "The Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex? Or it the Hart Center a part of the Luth Athletic Complex? If so what part? I had posted on the old board about the naming of the entire complex as the Luth Athletic Complex, which I'm quite sure will be truncated to simply the LAC. My reading of ADNP's phrasing is that Hart will remain as the competition court name. I also speculated that if someone donated the money to expand the rink, the rink would be re-named for him or her. Whether strength and conditioning will again be named Smith, after the original donor, we'll have to wait and see. Naming rights are probably available for the practice court, the pool, the field hockey field, and the new demi-loop road circling the LAC. I will re-post the various floorplans etc that I had posted on the old board, probably in the next day or two. .

More plans. rink, from north to south. new women’s hockey facilities right side of rink Practice court NW Corner upper level Pool NFH capacity (this is max capacity allowed by safety codes) These two sets of images cover those areas within the scope of work. The plans that I found for the renovated Hart court, at court level, are not very informative. As I noted on the old board, I believe the squash courts are still there, but are outside the scope of work. Similarly, there are no details for the rowing tanks (which were re-done very recently.)

Why no design pics of what our renovated court will look like, you think?

matunuck, at the time my set of plans were released to bidders, there was some uncertainty. e.g., paint and 'seat' colors all to be determined. The plans of the court that I do have typically are for sections; e.g., where to cut the floor for the wiring for the shot clock above the backboards, where to cut the floor for the sleeves for the volleyball poles. On my plans, the end court bleachers were to be salvaged and re-used, now these apparently will be replaced. So the Hart court seems to be in some flux, which may explain the lack of renderings. From the webcam, which albeit is not the best view, I see no indication they've started work on replacing the roof, so that may be done over the summer of 2017. I believe the initial plans for the Hart and the field house were first posted by HC8485, so in the interest of restoring archival material, here they are again. old plans site expanded? rink football NFH, by Fitton

Image from May 21, and Saturday work installing what appears to be the shell for the elevator (white concrete under the crane with two openings) that will lead to the upper level of the Hart near the Ryan room. There will be stairs to the left of the shell. The actual entrance to the lobby will be to the right of the shell. To give further perspective, the elevator lines up with and is opposite a narrow corridor to the north of the Hart court. This corridor provides access to visiting team, officials, and visiting coaches locker rooms (which are under the north (non bleacher) stands.

Speaking of the web cam....check out the Taj Mahal that is The Contemplative Center. You wouldn't think we would need such a palace in order to be able to "contemplate." What would St. Francis of Assisi think. Sorry, it's decadent.

Having been to the very large church in Assisi where St. Francis is entombed, if he is not already rolling over in his tomb for that (and I saw no evidence that he was), then then Contemplative Center where the College of the Holy Cross, a still Catholic college, is trying to fulfill its religious mission probably won't bother this saint one iota. Very amusing that the harshest critic is someone who readily and frequently admits to not contributing a dime to Holy Cross, so none of his funds are going to pay for this, the taj majal of Massachusetts.

Please disabuse yourself of the notion that only those who contribute money to HC have the right to criticize HC. Are you so money centered? You sound like one of those whom Jesus cast out of the temple. Do you feel the same way about political campaign donors and lobbyists, i.e., that only they can criticize their political recipients?

False equivalency. There's a huge difference between being a citizen/voter and being a supporter of a college

KY- Of course there is a difference, but in all relevant respects my equivalence is valid. Equivalencies aside, it does appear that you have either a limited command of the language or insufficient world experience that the analogies you fashion often follow a trajectory of hyperbole and extreme exaggeration that they are seen by no one other than you. image courtesy of Harvard magazine. harvardmagazine.com/2012/01/gonzaga-eastern-point-retreat-houseBTW, the image is a Jesuit-run retreat house on Eastern Point, Gloucester MA. And HC isn't even keeping up with BC.

Back to the Luth. From this morning, They appear to have finished most of the formwork for the foundation / base of the NFH. As the southeast corner is level with the future floor of the NFH, no need for vertical walls. The equipment on the east side of the Hart court looks to be creating a base for what will be the AD office suite. I think most of the gray pile of crushed stone and dirt will be used to level the floor of the NFH.

I think if that mound of dirt can get perhaps 50 feet higher, the ski team will be able to practice on campus. (I'm sorry, RGS, will this post get us back off topic?)
